It is important that the voice of peace competes with the voice of war, and it is important to make it clear that the global majority wants peace, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in his speech at the summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Ankara on Thursday.

The Prime Minister emphasized:

unfortunately, Europe is suffering from "war psychosis", the continent is drifting into war day by day.

Viktor Orbán thanked the leaders of the Turkish states for strengthening the voice of peace.

He also thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who, as he said, had been able to successfully mediate between the warring parties, and asked him to continue his efforts in the future.

This is the only way we have a chance for peace

Viktor Orbán pointed out. He also thanked the Turkish president that Hungary and Turkey can coordinate their work within the framework of NATO.

The prime minister emphasized: the main issue in Europe today is war, and this presents Hungary with a difficult situation.

Ukraine is a neighboring country, the effects of the war are serious and immediate, inflation is skyrocketing and energy prices are at historic highs

- he added, also indicating that many Hungarians have now died in the war, because men from among the members of the Hungarian community living in Western Ukraine are being conscripted into the army.

Therefore, he continued, saving human lives is the most important thing for Hungary, which is why he advocates for a ceasefire and peace negotiations as soon as possible.

At the same time, the Prime Minister expressed the opinion that what is being seen in Europe now is more than a war, because in fact "the power relations of the whole of Europe are being rearranged", and this will affect the Turkish world as well.

Viktor Orbán also said that from Hungary

they also see another danger: there are processes taking place in the world economy that could lead to another blockage.

The prime minister said that the blocking of the world economy is against Hungarian interests, and that Hungary does not see the future in blocking, but in collectivity and connection.

In this, the Turkish states can play a key role, since here we are European, Caucasian and Central Asian countries, which are connected to each other based on mutual respect, setting a good example for the whole world
