The lesson of St. István is that what is good for the church is good for the country, and the reverse is also true - said Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén in Dombóvár. At the celebration organized on the occasion of the 53rd anniversary of the settlement's inauguration as a city, he added: he appreciates the excellent cooperation of the Dombóvár municipality with the churches and nationalities.

Separation and confrontation with the church is not the way to go, the cooperation between the church and the municipality serves the good of all living here, he added. He stated that a settlement can develop if

he has the best possible relationship with the county and can speak with the government for the sake of developments. He said that Dombóvár can be proud of its past and present, as well as those awarded on the occasion of the anniversary. He noted that the city's financial stability is commendable.

He pointed out that many investments have taken place and are taking place in the city's kindergartens, schools, doctor's office, ambulance station, and sports center. The settlement is being built, getting rich, and has excellent plans, he added.

János Árpád Potápi, the state secretary responsible for national policy and the region's Fidesz member of parliament, spoke about, among other things, that 2023 will be the year of investments in Dombóvár. The renovation of the Szabadság utca medical clinic, the former music school building and the stormwater drainage system will begin in the spring.

The renovation of the Church of the Heart of Jesus is already underway, and the construction of the new Catholic kindergarten will begin in April. He added that large amounts of subsidies are coming to Dombóvár for the renovation of neglected roads.

Mayor Szilárd Pintér (Fidesz-KDNP) announced that over the next four years, seven billion forints will come to Dombóvár. At the anniversary celebration held in Tinódi Ház, the title of honorary citizen was awarded and young talents and actors of the economy were recognized with awards.
