Pope Francis was released from the hospital. The Holy Father was treated for bronchitis, but according to his doctors, he responded well to the drugs, so he was no longer kept at the Roman clinic. The head of the Catholic Church has thus returned to the Vatican and will be present at the Holy Week ceremonies. On April 28, he will arrive in Hungary for three days. The public media will report on all the details of the papal visit.
Pope Francis was treated at the Gemelli Clinic after the head of the Catholic Church was diagnosed with respiratory tract inflammation. At the clinic, he dealt not only with his own recovery, but also with the recovery of others. For example, he visited the pediatric oncology department of the hospital to bring a blessing to the little patients. He also baptized one of the babies.
The Holy Father was able to leave the hospital on Saturday morning. A lot of people were waiting in front of the Gemelli clinic. He greeted the crowd celebrating his return with a wave. After getting out of the car, he also signed the cast of a little boy and then blessed it.
Pope Francis was hospitalized on Wednesday. Vatican sources previously said that the Pope spent the nights in the hospital calmly and responded well to the treatment from the first moment.
Since the Pope's condition is stable, he will be present at the Easter ceremonies. This year, Holy Week begins on April 2 and ends on April 9, Easter Sunday. A lot of tasks await him during this time on the most important holiday of Christianity. Among other things, he participates in the Good Friday Stations of the Cross in the Roman Colosseum.
Pope Francis is scheduled to personally read his Easter Sunday message and give the Urbi et Orbi blessing to the city of Rome and the world.
According to MTI's report, a journalist from an Italian newspaper asked the Holy Father after he came out of the hospital whether he would visit Hungary between April 28 and 30 as planned, to which he answered yes.
The Holy Father's first journey will lead to the Sándor Palace, where he will be ceremonially received by the President of the Republic Katalin Novák, and then he will meet with Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. That afternoon, he meets with priests and monks in the St. Stephen's Basilica in Budapest.
On Saturdays, he visits children with disabilities, and then welcomes the homeless, those fleeing war and the poor in Rózsák Square. And in the Papp László sports arena, he meets thousands of students and young people.
