The cross is the sublime symbol of our faith and, with it, of Easter. In the past, it was also referred to as the tree of shame, since among the Romans, sinners breathed their last on the cross. The crucifixion of Jesus Christ took place from this conviction, when he said his last words on the cross for our sins: "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit."

With its resurrection, however, the cross took on a different meaning: it was not by chance that it was named the Tree of Life.

Although the cross brought the death of our savior, let us still look upon it as a tree of life.

We can even start from ourselves. If a person spreads his hands, he forms a cross. The four heavens also evoke the cross. On the ships, the mast and the anchor were cross-shaped, and the old swords were cross-shaped. The bird with extended wings, the ancient scales, the plow - and we could go on and on - all remind us of the cross.

Could it be a coincidence? I do not think so. Just as it is not surprising why the death on the cross and the resurrection happened in the spring. Because the resurrection brought renewal to the whole world. Together with man, nature also renews itself, resurrects! There is space for vegetables, fruit for grain, grapes, at the sight of which people spread their hands in joy.

He rejoices in joy, which is part of the sacred secret of our faith, which also includes the cross, the symbol of the beauty of life.
