The education support for Hungarian children living abroad will increase from HUF 22,400 to HUF 100,000

The amount of the support was HUF 22,400 until now, but this will now increase to HUF 100,000. The benefit is always paid after the given school year, and the families concerned will receive it this year, according to the plans, in August-September.

The support can be received by those kindergartens, kindergartens, primary and secondary school students, as well as college and university students in Transylvania, Highlands, Vojvodina, Subcarpathia, Croatia and Moravia, who participate in education and upbringing in Hungarian in their homeland.

According to his statement, foreign partners participate in the program as facilitators. A separate call is announced for each region, which includes the address to which the application must be delivered.

The last date for mailing the grant application is May 24, 2023

János Árpád Potápi recalled that since 2010, the subsidy was also provided to kindergarten students, which was opened to kindergartens in 2021 and the amount of student subsidy was increased to HUF 22,400.

The new transformation of the program started with the Transcarpathian region, and already at the beginning of this year Hungarian children and young people in Transcarpathia were provided with HUF 100,000 support instead of the previous HUF 22,400.

The State Secretary for National Policy also reported that

Permanent support is provided for the operation of 50 Hungarian secondary schools, colleges and scattered colleges, 8 higher education institutions with Hungarian as the language of instruction abroad, and Hungarian faculty

Within the framework of the National Restart Program, they help with the implementation of educational developments, programs and events, which means more than 300 activities per year.

He also mentioned that they contributed to the implementation of more than 1,200 foreign investments for educational purposes in the past period. Thanks to the Carpathian Basin Kindergarten Development Program, almost 900 kindergartens and nurseries are being built, created or renovated abroad.
