Anett Bősz will clearly be the DK's candidate for mayor if the party finally decides not to stand behind Gergely Karácsony in the local government elections - sources familiar with the left's internal affairs told Magyar Nemzet unanimously. According to them, Karácsony has until autumn to meet the expectations of Ferenc Gyurcsány and "fight" with the government, as well as to increase his personal support.

It is not a default that we support - Ferenc Gyurcsány said suspiciously last fall about whether they will stand behind Gergely Karácsony in the municipal elections, which has been one of the most exciting topics in public discourse ever since. The fallen prime minister recently raised the issue in an interview with Spirit FM, saying: the DK could imagine three people as candidates for mayor, some of whom are closer to the party world, some of whom can be considered civil, but according to Gyurcsány, the basic dilemma is whether they want to challenge the current mayor.

It is a fact that Bősz did not confirm or deny the news about his possible candidacy when asked by Mediaworks recently. - At the moment, I do not have the mandate to say anything about the strategic steps of the DK - said the current deputy mayor, who transferred from the Hungarian Liberal Party to the Gyurcsány Ferencs almost three years ago.

As the paper's sources explained: in DK they are definitely thinking about a female mayor candidate, so Klára Dobrev was the most obvious option for a long time.

But since the decision was made recently that Dobrev will lead the party's EP list, Anett Bősz, embedded in the liberal circles of Budapest, who moves at home, became the Gyurcsánys' number one candidate - as the European Parliament and municipal elections will be held on the same day next year.

According to our sources, in the DK they will decide in the autumn whether they will stand behind Gergely Karácsony, who has thus far had time to meet Ferenc Gyurcsány's expectations in exchange for his support, and to increase his own personal popularity.

The fallen prime minister may have hinted at this in his interview with Spirit FM, when he said: Karácsony is one of the most correct, kindest, best-faced politicians, so it's easy to love him, but according to him, the mayor of Budapest is "violating his patriotic duty" by not confronting the government enough .

"Here is a city of almost two million people, two-thirds of which is up to Orbán's rule. He has a mayor who is close to us.

The mayor is not willing to fulfill the patriotic obligation of bringing the city into this fight," explained Gyurcsány, who believes that Karácsony's ambitions will end with the renovation of Blaha Lujza tér or with the removal of the garbage.

The mayor apparently listened to the admonition of the leader of the left, so he announced at an extraordinary press conference in the past few days: the Metropolitan Municipality does not recognize the legality of the solidarity tax, so they only pay the part of it to the state that they think is legal.

Karácsony was praised for his act of breaking his own oath at the DK's shadow government briefing the other day, where Olga Kálmán called it "politically and as a careful city manager" correct. Of course, he doesn't eat his porridge that hot, the mayor can't sit back at all yet, as the shadow chancellor minister Csaba Molnár said at the same time: he doesn't see that Karácsony's attitude has changed so far, he thinks it's simply that the capital can no longer pay to the state.

Civilians Info:

We often hear that the Orbáns don't like Budapest, since it has an opposition spirit and in its genesis is the main base of the red ideology, but we see that this is not the case. After all, Budapest has been the capital of Hungary since 1849 - first under the name Pest-Buda - after Bratislava. Since the agreement of 1867, it has been the engine of Hungarian development and the most important stronghold of Hungarian culture. All conservative political forces supported the image of the modern metropolis, which is why the wide palette of ideologies, the opinion-kaleidoscope of the mediums and the press, the "news is sacred, opinion is free" juxtaposition from József Pulitzer - still binding in the world - coexisted for a long time. yes - if you like - simplified - a relatively fair fight between liberalism and Christian-conservatism until 1918. Then, from 1919, radical liberalism and communism take over the leadership of the left, which immediately turns into the red terror, in particular, the parliament in Budapest is painted with red paint, and the remark that "the left, whenever it gets the chance, always attacks its nation" is correct. . (Compare: László Kövér) We saw plenty of this from 1945 to the present day.

My feeling is that when we talk about the sacrifice or deliberate destruction of Budapest, the responsible party should not be sought on the conservative side. If we only think of the most recent period after the regime change, we can see - and this is secretly acknowledged in opposition circles - that Demszky's window dressing policy, the lack of modernization, indebtedness, the enormous corruption related to the 4th metro and even more the more outrageous stomping around in one place, the Whale dying alone on the Danube bank, the destruction of public transport, and I could list them, can all be interpreted as the "work" of the liberal-left. In comparison, István Tarlós, a man of the right, came in, who in 8 years - with an engineering approach - repaired the damage, completed metro 4, breathed life into the Bálna, developed - and this is secretly recognized even in opposition circles - public transport, made the city clean and well maintained. Then the left came again and now Budapest led by Gergely Karácsony is dancing on the edge of bankruptcy.

Compared to this, Ferenc Gyurcsány is dissatisfied because the mayor is not willing to fulfill his patriotic obligation to take him into the fight against Orbán, in other words, to put the capital at the service of his (class) warrior politics - whose "tear-dropping" and bloody events we have seen in Budapest. , even sacrificed on its altar.

Instead of the do-it-yourself Karácsony, there will be Anett Bősz, who is a complete party soldier, or Dobrev. The question is whether the EP or Budapest is a nicer gift for the woman.

The boss has given time for now, Karácsony can browse the lesson!
