The public media is preparing a rich selection of programs for the pastoral visit of the head of the Catholic Church to Budapest between April 28 and 30. At the end of April, Pope Francis will visit the more than 1,000-year-old Christian Hungary for the second time. All public programs of the historically important religious event will be broadcast live by M1, Duna and Kossuth Radio, but it is also worth choosing public media channels during the period of preparation for the event.

Until the arrival of the Pope, the public media will provide its audience with a wide variety of programs, which - in addition to educational and religious programs that provide insight into the past and present of the Catholic Church - also help with the spiritual preparation for the special religious event with thematic film offerings.

The Italian-Argentine documentary called Our Pope

It will be screened by Duna on Saturday, April 29 from 1:30 p.m. The film is a portrait of two different people, two different destinies: the Italian-born Argentinian head of the Church, our Pope, and, in the background, the actor preparing for the most important role of his life.

Spanish actor Iago Garcia is preparing for the biggest role of his life: he will play Pope Francis in a start-up production in Argentina.

In order to get a feel for the role as much as possible, he undertakes to visit the main stages and locations of the bishop's life in 20 days. Following Tiziana Lupi's book, she digs deep into the family's history. It follows the footsteps of the Bergoglio family, who left Italy at the beginning of the 20th century and emigrated to Argentina. The ship with which they were supposed to depart fell victim to one of the greatest maritime disasters of all time.

It was just a coincidence that even though they had the ticket for the trip, due to a protracted deal, they did not get on the ship departing from the port of Genoa, and so later the child who became Pope Francis could be born in Argentina. The film was first shown to the public on the Pope's 83rd birthday.

Also presented by Duna on April 29 from 9:55 p.m. starring Christopher Lambert and Ed Harris

the French-American film drama To Kill a Priest.

The film was inspired by a real event, the tragic murder of Father Jerzy Popieluszko in 1984. In Poland, the hard-line military regime bans the wildly popular Solidarity Trade Union and imposes a state of emergency. But there is someone, a Catholic priest, who openly raises his voice - even from the pulpit - against the military dictatorship. The authorities are helpless, they arrest him in vain, under pressure from the Vatican and the West - and because of the increasing internal tension - they have to release him, but an overzealous secret policeman decides: the priest must perish.

It's Sunday at 11:00 p.m

The historical drama Ignatius is shown,

which was based on the memoirs of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit order. The story of a soldier, a warrior, a man used to fighting, who, while trying to turn towards the light, was forced to go all the way to defeat his inner demons.
