The number of county and national passes sold exceeded 300,000, the MÁV-Volán group informed MTI on Monday. According to a statement from the company, the new premium products have become so popular that in the height of early-month purchases, they surpassed pass sales figures from previous months.

In addition to Budapest's main railway stations, Vác in Pest County and Debrecen, Miskolc, Székesfehérvár, Pécs and Győr in rural areas bought the most county or national passes, according to the data from ticket offices and automatic ticket exchanges. A total of almost 304,000 new types of passes were sold, of which around 220,000 were county passes, most of which, 53,000, were exchanged for the Pest county, they wrote, adding:

based on the figures so far, the discounted national pass, which costs only HUF 1,890, is the most popular product, of which 68,000 have been sold.

16 percent of customers decided to buy the new type of pass in the "most convenient way, with a few clicks", and the transport company had already sold more than 45,000 tickets using the MÁV app by Friday.

According to the report of the MÁV-Volán group, based on the data of the more intensive buying period at the beginning of the month, typically from the 1st to the 8th, with around 70,000 passes sold in May, the sales figures exceed the monthly average of MÁV-START, Volánbusz and GYSEV pass sales for the first four months of this year.

They also mentioned that full-price 30-day county passes cost HUF 9,450, and national passes cost HUF 18,900. Added:

day and evening students, kindergarteners over the age of 6, and people with disabilities can get these products at a 90 percent discount - HUF 945 and HUF 1,890, respectively.

A search engine with a map on the orszagberlet.hu website supports customers in finding the nearest point of sale, the announcement states.
