For Hungary, a workable European strategy can traditionally be to acquire allies in Central Europe, stated Balázs Orbán.

According to the prime minister's political director, the workable European strategy for Hungary can traditionally be to acquire allies in Central Europe. Central European cooperation must be maintained and strengthened, even if it is not always easy.

"Furthermore, it is necessary to try to establish some kind of modus vivendi with the two large member states, France and Germany. Everything else is just extra. When the former two goals are realized, then Hungary is in its place in European politics, and when one of the relations goes awry, then we have to work on restoration," Balázs Orbán stated in an interview with Magyar Nemzet.

The prime minister's political director drew attention to the fact that in each of the 27 member states of the European Union, there are actors on the right who see the future of Europe and the problems very similarly to Hungary.

"For example, they don't want a European empire, they don't want war or European institutions that support illegal migration. Moreover, they do not want gender propaganda, which they try to shove down the throats of the member states from Brussels. Furthermore, these actors do not want to give up their foreign policy independence either".

According to Balázs Orbán, the Hungarian government can cooperate with these political forces - which exist in all countries, from Portugal to Sweden to Greece - on common grounds.

"The problem of these actors is that they are divided in the European political arena, and they are only able to influence European decision-making processes to a very limited extent for now. We hope that the upcoming European Parliament elections will bring about a change in this," he added.

Balázs Orbán also spoke about Hungary's serious preparations for next year's EU presidency, and he called the action of the left-wing majority of the European Parliament another pro-war pressure exercise.

"The Hungarian left-wing representatives have a qualified responsibility, and they are again working against their own country in a shocking way. The presidency is a good opportunity because, on the one hand, we can host the whole of Europe. On the other hand, we are taking over the presidency at a critical time, as it will be after the elections, when the new institutional structure will be formed, which will determine the next five years. Hungary traditionally performs the tasks of the presidency to the satisfaction of everyone, and I am sure that this will be the case this time as well," said Balázs Orbán.
