Anyone can run on the last day of August's World Athletics Championships in Budapest, August 27, right after the official marathon race, on the exact same route where the world's best compete for medals.

Thanks to the Budapest 10k Heroes' Run competition, not only the participants of the World Cup, but also everyone who is in the mood and likes to run, can experience the experience of seeing the route marked out in the most beautiful parts of downtown Budapest. For the first time in many years, it will be possible to run across, for example, the renovated Chain Bridge, the organizers announced on Tuesday.

The start and the finish will be at Hősök square, then the participants will run along Andrássy út,

touching such landmarks as the Városliget palaces, the Oktogon and the Opera House. Then they run past the Ferris wheel on Erzsébet tér in József Attila utca and arrive at Roosevelt tér in front of the MTA building, from which the renovated and handed over Chain Bridge is only a turn away.

Here comes one of the special features of the route, because they run through the Tunnel, then behind the Buda Castle, through the Vérmező to the Várkert bazaar, and from there the road leads back to the Chain Bridge along the Danube bank.

All participants will receive a finisher's medal and a unique ASICS running t-shirt made for the race as a gift, as well as a finisher's package waiting for them at the finish line.

The organizers announced two distances, one 2023 meters long and the other exactly 10 kilometers long.

Entries will start soon, but all information is already available on the official website of the competition, budapest10k.hu .

The entry fee is HUF 2,000 for the shorter distance and HUF 5,000 for the longer distance. The start and finish of both distances will be at the start of the official marathon races of the World Championships.

According to the plans, the 10 km race will start at 10:30 a.m. and the 2,023-meter race will start at 12:30 p.m., so the participants will have the opportunity to cheer on the world stars starting at the World Cup marathon running race from 7 a.m. Participation in the street competitions is free for spectators, and tickets for the competitions organized in the National Athletic Center are still available at jegy.atletikaivilagbajnoksag.hu.
