With a fingerprint, anyone can access all of your findings, lab results, final reports, and all other medical documents. The application is popular, so far 360,000 recipes have been downloaded through it.

So far, 2.3 million people have downloaded the EgészsésAblak application to their phones, and more than 2 million findings have been downloaded, so every Hungarian can now access all their findings with a single fingerprint, said Bence Rétvári, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior, at a press conference in Budapest on Monday.

"The goal is to make health care as easy and fast as possible for everyone, and to make the information that has already been uploaded as easy to access as possible," he added.

The state secretary indicated that the application started with the vaccination certificate, which was expanded with additional functions such as e-prescription and e-findings. Findings that are always at hand reduce the possibility of mistakes, he emphasized.

He also talked about the fact that the 1812 Healthline is available 24 hours a day, every day of the week, where they provide information about health services, help in finding service providers, and also with all other questions related to the EESZT.

Szabolcs Békássy, national collegiate professional family physician, spoke about how the launch of the EESZT was a historic moment in the life of the Hungarian health care system, as it brought with it a much faster flow of health data.

"It is also unique in Europe to this day. With the EgészségAblak application, we have reached another milestone, the application also includes e-referrals, and this is a convenience service not only for patients, but also for the entire healthcare system, as it can take a large burden off the shoulders of general practitioners," he indicated, adding that all this does not mean that a personal doctor-patient meeting would not be necessary.

Jelinek Benjamin IX. the district general practitioner emphasized that it is convenient and reassuring for patients that the prescriptions are available electronically, they can be informed about the results of their findings, and they can review the documentation of their relatives. The application takes a burden off the care system, but the family physician also emphasized that it is still necessary to visit specialists personally for medical advice.
