The Mágochy–Alaghy–'Sennyey Castle in Pácin is the largest Renaissance castle in Hungary, the only one in the country that provides an authentic picture of Hungary's late Renaissance castle architecture. Both the building and its park are under special national monument protection. The state of the castle has deteriorated significantly in recent decades, so renovation has become timely. Today, the Bodrogközi Castle Museum houses various exhibitions within its walls.

In the Public Procurement Notice of July 26, the Municipality of Pácin published a call for the reconstruction of the Mágochy-Alaghy-'Sennyey castle in Pácin, according to which the renovation of the roof and facade of the listed building is due.

"The primary goal of the project is the realization of a complex tourist attraction based on the Mágochy Castle and its surroundings, presenting both cultural heritage and natural values, which provides attractiveness, experiences and the opportunity to spend as much time as possible for the tourists visiting Pácin," says the project description .

Pácin Castle, located in Bodrogköz, is one of the most significant Renaissance monuments of the Upper Tisza region and Zemplén. Bodrogköz is extremely rich in memories of the conquest and the Árpád era. The exhibition on the ground floor of the castle museum in the building also presents this period.

In the Middle Ages, the owners of Pácin came from among the most important aristocratic families. Hunyadi, Szapolyai, and the settlement belonged to the estates of Tokaj, Tállya and, after its destruction, Regéc Castle. The settlement was not reached by the Turkish expansion, so its fortified castle did not suffer a siege, and over time it was able to preserve its architectural characteristics typical of the period, which were tried to be presented during the works carried out between 1977 and 1987 with the reconstruction of the castle in the late Renaissance style.

According to the description on the website of the Hungarian Architectural Museum and Monument Protection Documentation Center, the castle was built by András Mágocsy after he married Judit Alaghy, who had previously inherited the Regéc estate, in 1580. The marriage was advocated by András Mágocsy's uncle, Judit Alaghy's guardian, Gáspár Mágocsy, as well as the construction. The castle was completed in 1581 as a one-story, irregular rectangular building. After the death of András Mágocsy, the widow married Baron Zsigmond Rákóczi, and he passed Pácin to his paternal relatives, which is how Ferenc Alaghy rebuilt the castle in 1591. The two hexagonal corner towers at the corners of the southern facade, as well as the fortress wall, were built at that time. Pácin came into the possession of Sándor Sennyey in 1631, the village and the castle were owned by the family until the end of the Second World War, after which they were nationalized. It was remodeled several times, in 1856 in a romantic style, but traces of this were removed during the reconstruction completed in 1987, returning it to its Renaissance, 16th-century state. The Bodrogközi Castle Museum currently operates within its walls.
