The largest Hungarian team of all time, 63 domestic athletes, will compete in the World Championships in Budapest starting on August 19.

Miklós Gyulai, the president of the Hungarian Athletics Association (MASZ) presented the roster on Tuesday on the current channel M1. Out of the 63 entrants, 32 qualified for the World Cup based on the qualification list, and 31 athletes with the appropriate level of knowledge were allowed to enter the World Cup by right of the host country. MASZ, approved by the international association (WA). Five Hungarian relay teams can start at the WC.

Miklós Gyulai highlighted that the record number of participants is a great success in itself and proves that the Budapest 2023 Gyula Zsivotzky Program was successful, fulfilling its mission to have the largest Hungarian national team participate in the domestically organized world event. He added that, accordingly, there are many young competitors in the team.

The president of the MASZ emphasized that the World Cup is a competition in which it is possible to reach the level for next year's Paris Olympics.

It was already known last week that the number of the team reached 25 people, the final list was formed in three stages.

In the women's 100-meter hurdles and men's hammer throw, a maximum of three domestic competitors will take part in the National Athletics Center.

At the World Championships in Budapest, there will be only four events - men's and women's 10,000 meters, women's 3,000-meter steeplechase and men's pole vault - in which Hungarian athletes will not compete.
The World Cup will be held between August 19 and 27 in the National Athletic Center, the street running and walking competitions will be hosted by Hősök tere.
