Minister of Finance Serhii Marchenko stated that the level of corruption in Ukraine is the lowest in the last two decades.
According to him, international partners "treat corruption in Ukraine with understanding" because it cannot stop immediately. Although in general Marchenko believes that the level of corruption in Ukraine is now the lowest since independence.
"I'm already quite experienced. They say I am an experienced tax auditor. For twenty years, since I have known the processes taking place in the country, the level of corruption is now the lowest. Perhaps it remained quite high in some sectors. But in principle, the system as a whole is now the smallest..."

He also emphasized that it is not possible to immediately clean up corruption in the country, and everyone understands this, even in the West.
The partners also understand this. I am ready to accept that there can be corruption here too. Because no one will say "there is a war and the end of corruption". Corruption has been transferred to another format, Marchenko emphasized.
He added that the cleansing of the power system in Ukraine is a gradual process.
"And what - conditionally - the public organizations do, the existing public, the work of the same bodies, NAPK, NABU and others will have an effect. With some delay, but the effect is there. And the partners also understand this," emphasized the minister.
