The EU protects LGBTQ people from religion, says Ms. Jourová, although the situation is that today the opposite is needed: religion should be protected from the rainbow push.
The EU politician stated that they condemn "if they act in the name of a religion against the members of the LGBTQ community".
Vera Jourová, member of the European Commission responsible for transparency and values, stated at the plenary session of the European Parliament:
the EU condemns "if they act in the name of a religion against members of the LGBTQ community".
The politician said that they are working with the committee to protect the values of freedom of religion and belief, and the followers of all religions against violence, discrimination and attacks. At the same time, they condemn violence committed in the name of religion and attacks against LGBTQ people.
