The Association of Historical Hungarian Families has been established, announced Tímea Széchenyi, head of the Count Széchenyi Family Foundation, on the Memorial Day of Historical Hungarian Families, on Friday in Buda Castle.

Tímea Széchenyi told MTI that the Association of Historical Hungarian Families, which was established on the sixth memorial day, currently includes 30 families, but may expand to include others, and will carry out its activities in the form of an association.

"With the association, we want to represent the interests of those families, together with other families, who need to nurture the past of the Hungarian nation, who want to show themselves and contribute with their work to the preservation of Hungarian roots," emphasized the head of the foundation . He added that their goal is also for the young generations, the representatives of the families, to carry on the legacy that the new alliance will create in the next "thousand years".

This year, the Görgey family is the main patron of the Memorial Day of Historical Hungarian Families, which received the patronage title in honor of the 175th anniversary of the 1848 War of Independence
