István Pásztor, the president of the Vojvodina Hungarian Association (VMSZ), reported on his social media page that vandals vandalized the Szabadka sign on the first weekend of September.
He said,
"They sent a message to President Vučić, but it hurts us more.
"We will do everything to ensure that the signs with the inscription Subotica can be decorated in their new light again, and that the perpetrators receive their deserved punishment"
Pásztor declared.
"We're here to stay"
The president of the VMSZ then continued by saying that "vandalism must be stopped, no matter who it is. I hope President Vučić understands the message of the perpetrators to him and responds."
"And we're staying here and not going anywhere"
