On the occasion of the 66th anniversary of the martyrdom of the servant of God, János Esterházy, and the 5th anniversary of the death of Paulisz Boldizsár, the founder of the János Esterházy Pilgrimage Center, the János Esterházy Pilgrimage Center is organizing a pilgrimage day on September 16 in Alsóbodok in the highlands with the intention of reconciliation and reconciliation between the peoples of Central Europe.

Alsóbodok is the heart of the Hungarian settlements in Zoboral. The settlement located south of the Zobor mountain, the Csitar mountains and the Gímes mountain range was also a favorite place of the politician János Esterházy, a martyr from the highlands. The Esterházy calvary and chapel were also built on this hillside and hilltop. The fourteen wooden stations of the cross, starting from the Esterházy Memorial Museum in the valley, lead you through the suffering story of János Esterházy.

Pilgrimage day in Alsóbodok

"The martyrs of the confessional church unite us!" - organized with the motto, on the vigil of the Pilgrim's Day, on September 15 at 5:30 p.m., a Pilgrim's Holy Mass awaits the arrivals. This is followed by the photo exhibition of the Kossuth Prize-winning sculptor Péter Raab Párkányi entitled Örömút, which is opened by the ceramic sculptor and art historian Judit Józsa. From nine in the evening, there will be a candlelight procession followed by a prayer vigil for peace.

 

On Saturday, on the farewell day of the János Esterházy Pilgrimage Center , the participants of the third János Esterházy pilgrimage will start from the Szent Imre church in Babindál village. Their arrival at the János Esterházy Pilgrimage Center in Alsóbodok is expected at 11 a.m., where a spiritual program awaits the participants. Sculptor Tibor Túrök, Róbert Madarász, director of the Mariánum School Center, Alfréd Somogyi, dean of the Reformed Theological Faculty of János Selye University, engineer Zalán Szilvási, brain surgeon András Csókai and Father Imre Kozma, head of the Maltese Charity Service, about the presence of God's servant János Esterházy among us and about today they bear witness to his message.

Then the two winners of the Peacock talent contest, Júlia Haraszti and Mária Haraszti, will perform with a sacred song presentation enhanced with poems about János Esterházy The Catholic weekly newspaper Remény, which has been at the service of the believers in the Highlands for 33 years, will be present. In the afternoon, there will be a prayerful walk through the Way of the Cross of Faith and the ceremonial handing over of the János Esterházy Memorial Medal. Afterwards, at 3:00 p.m., a celebratory mass will be presented, the chief celebrant of which will be the Czech Primate's delegate, Auxiliary Bishop Zdeněk Wasserbauer of Prague. The Holy Mass is offered for the reconciliation of the peoples of Central Europe, for peace in Ukraine and for the spiritual well-being of God's servant János Esterházy. The day ends with a concert performance by the zither orchestra from Nagycétény. The celebratory mass will be broadcast live by Mária Rádió in the Highlands and in Hungary.
