According to Bettina Fábián, this success is not only the peak of her season, but also of her age group career.

On Saturday, the Hungarians won two more medals, one gold and one bronze, at the European Youth Open Water Championships in Corfu. According to the information of the Hungarian association, Bettina Fábián easily won 10 kilometers with a performance worthy of a favorite, while Mira Szimcsák finished third. Nóra Flück was fifth.

Fábián said that this is not the crowning of his season, but also of his age group career. For this reason, he is very happy that the competition turned out this way, because the goal was clearly the gold medal, and he is happy that he got it.

"No one wanted to swim at the front, because we faced the waves quite a bit on the outside, that section was difficult for me too, it took a lot out of me, that is, I was like, if I couldn't tear the field apart, I'd rather reserve for the end, because I knew that my hair is the best for me"

- he declared to the association's press department.

Szimcsák is very satisfied with the medal - the fact that he was one tenth away from silver doesn't bother him at all, last year he was second by the same amount, this is how life brought him, and that's perfectly fine. This medal means a lot to him, because in 2018 he started among the youngest with a silver medal in five kilometers, and he managed to finish on the podium in every big age group competition, and it was important to his soul that this streak not be broken.

On Friday's opening day, the Hungarians won two golds and two silvers. The Hungarian team leads the medal table before the closing day on Sunday.
