Love, passion, battle, power struggle, betrayal and loyalty appear in the story of the eight-part series Tündérkert, which is based on the first volume of Zsigmond Móricz's Transylvanian trilogy and debuts on the Danube with double parts on October 13.

The twisty historical film series set in 17th-century Transylvania was based on Zsigmond Móricz's work of the same name, emphasized producer Dorottya Helmeczy after the press presentation of the first two parts on Wednesday.

As he said, there were threads from the novel that were let go, and the female characters were also emphasized more in the series than in Móricz's work.

The story reveals how the young Gábor Báthory governs the principality, what decisions he makes in order to keep his power and strengthen Transylvania. Gábor Bethlen, the other protagonist, who is an older, calm politician; the relationship between the two of them drives the series forward - emphasized the producer, adding that Erzsébet Báthory, played by Zsófia Szamosi, also has a significant role in the plot. The story follows the countess's secret - explained the producer, who said that the episodes of the series go deeper and deeper into human dramas, and in the last part, viewers will have an unexpected twist.

According to Dorottya Helmeczy, the situation of women was very difficult in the 17th century, they had to be much more powerful and skillful at that time in order to assert themselves and stand their ground. According to the producer, the story has many similarities with today's times.

Dorottya Helmeczy called the Fairy Garden a fairy tale. "Because of the many intrigues and plots, as well as the beautiful visuals, it's like making important decisions in a fairy tale," he explained. He also mentioned that there are not many battle scenes in the series, the plot is determined by the relationship between the characters. The producer emphasized: the work has a strong visual background, the costumes and locations play an important role.

According to the producer, Tündérkert is an audience film that also provides exciting entertainment for older generations, while teenagers can learn about Hungarian history through a series of twists and turns.

Dorottya Helmeczy also said that their plans include filming the other two volumes of the trilogy - The Great Prince and The Shadow of the Day.

The eight-part series was made with the support of the National Film Institute, in a co-production between Megafilm Service and the Media Support and Asset Management Fund (MTVA).

Alongside Dániel Péter Katona, who plays Gábor Báthory, Barna Bokor plays Gábor Bethlen.

In addition to Zsófia Szamosi, the female characters of Tündérkert are played by Abigél Szőke, Evelin Dobos, Kata Gáspár, Móni Balsai, Nóra Parti and Éder Enikő, alongside Péter Kálloy Molnár, Zoltán Rajkai, Ferenc Pataki, Dániel Lukács, Attila Pál D. in the main roles.
