The ball is in Brussels - that's what Viktor Orbán said in a video uploaded to his social media page. The prime minister came from Spain, where he is participating in an extraordinary summit of EU prime ministers. He said: Brussels wants to oblige the member states to pay more money, because it wants to give even more money to the Ukrainians for the war. He added: it is time for Brussels bureaucrats to come to their senses.

"The ball is in Brussels. I am reporting from Spain, the extraordinary summit of the EU prime ministers is here, and although we are thousands of kilometers from Brussels, it is clear from here that the ball is in Brussels," Viktor Orbán began in his video.

The Prime Minister highlighted

the bureaucrats are piling mistake after mistake, and this can hardly be swept under the carpet today.

"Only three years of the seven-year budget have passed, and Brussels already wants to oblige the member states to pay more money because it wants to give more money to the Ukrainians for the war and more money to the migrants. In the meantime, the migration miracle weapon imposed on us three months ago, the migration pact, has also failed, the situation is getting more and more serious, the situation at the borders is getting more and more dramatic, in Hungary they are already shooting at our border guards at our southern borders - continued the prime minister.

"There is a war raging in our neighbor, and now Brussels came up with the idea of giving Ukraine unconditional war money for another four years. Instead of a ceasefire, they want arms shipments, and instead of peace, this money would support protracted killings," he listed, then emphasized:

Hungary does not supply weapons, we want a ceasefire and peace.

"The situation is clear, the reins have slipped out of Brussels' hands, in a few months there will be elections in Europe, and instead of their work, the bureaucrats are already paying attention to what will happen to them, what will happen to their jobs and careers. They bake their own steaks. In such a situation, there is no way Hungary can support a hasty, thoughtless budget amendment. We have to persuade the bureaucrats in Brussels to return to their desks and do their work seriously, "concluded the Prime Minister.

As is known, the heads of state and government of the countries that make up the European Political Community hold meetings in Spain. One important topic is the migratory pressure on the continent. Many people expected a peppery atmosphere in advance, especially after Brussels pushed through the draft of the migration pact on Wednesday despite the protests of several member states.

Hungary is represented by Viktor Orbán at the summit. On Thursday morning, the Prime Minister held a bilateral meeting with Charles Michel, President of the European Council. Viktor Orbán reiterated the Hungarian position regarding EU funds, the ever-worsening migration emergency at the continent's borders, Europe's economic and competitiveness decline, and the EU budget.
