A couple, Ádám Telegdy and Boglárka Kapás, won the first two Hungarian medals of the World Cup held in Hungary: the former finished third in the 200-meter backstroke and the latter in the 200-meter butterfly in the Duna Arena.
Three other Hungarians competed in the latter event, Dalma Sebestyén was fifth, Mira Miszlai was seventh, and Glenda Abonyi-Tóth was eighth.
"My goal is to come back. I'm not saying that I'm already where I want to be, but the goal is to fight for the Olympics again. It's not even relevant that I'll be in the top two if I feel around May that I've given it my all"
Telegdy, fifth at the Tokyo Games, who could not compete in the Fukuoka World Championships, told MTI. He is currently third in the Olympic home competition, behind world champion Hubert Kós, and fifth in Japan and in the current competition, behind Benedek Kovács.
The third podium result was achieved in the last race on Friday, the men's 4×100 meter relay, in which the foursome consisting of Márton Richárd, Szabó Szebasztián, Magda Boldizsár, and Nándor Németh finished third.
