The government developed a new, interest-subsidized family support system in settlements with over 5,000 inhabitants.

After the government meeting, the government briefing took place at an unusual time, early Wednesday evening. In addition to Chancellor Gergely Gulyás and Government Spokesperson Alexandra Szentkirályi, the Minister for Culture and Innovation János Csák was also present.

"Since 2015, 233,000 families have used the chocolate, and we allocated HUF 700 billion for it. Today, the government reviewed how we can adapt this support to market conditions"

János Csák began the briefing.

The minister announced: the village tax system will remain, a new, interest-subsidized family support system will be introduced in settlements with more than 5,000 people. Depending on the number of children, HUF 15, 30 or 50 million can be requested, with a 3 percent discounted interest rate. When buying the first joint home, it will be enough to include a 10 percent deductible in the price of the property. The support can be received until the mother is 41 years old, but a 2-year grace period is introduced. During this period, certified 12-week pregnant women can also take up the subsidy.

The loan cannot be taken out for the purchase of a plot of land.

The term of the loan can range from 10 to 25 years.

In the case of the first joint home, the government drew a limit of HUF 80 million, in the case of a home extension and moving to a new home, the value limit is HUF 150 million, and if it is not a first home, but a renovation or extension, there is a 20 percent deductible.

In the first year of the support, only 3 percent interest must be paid, if the child is born, borrowers can request a 1-year loan moratorium. For the second child, 10 million of the capital is released, and so on.

"The government wants every child it wants to be born

- stated the minister, who then gave the floor to Gergely Gulyás.

The chancellor minister said that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was particularly addressed, in connection with which the government recognizes Israel's right to self-defense and sympathizes with the family members of the victims. The international community must do everything to prevent the conflict from widening and spreading to other countries, said Gulyás. According to the minister, it is scary that thousands of terrorists are alive in large Western cities.

Gulyás also explained that, unfortunately, there are still 15 Hungarian citizens - four families with ten minors - and the Hungarian Foreign Ministry is in daily telephone contact with them.
