Politico singled out the Hungarian Prime Minister for himself: he mentions things said in "private conversations" and then notes that the EU commissioners are not worried anyway.

Viktor Orbán shook hands with Putin and even hinted at blocking new aid to Ukraine. What was the EU's response to this? A collective shrug of the shoulders and a promise to disburse the 13 billion euro subsidy, writes the Brussels paper indignantly.

As the Politico article reveals: according to EU officials, the Hungarian Prime Minister will fall in line, they are not worried.

"If we take a step back and look at what the EU and Hungary have done since the Ukrainian war broke out, we can see that every decision was made unanimously," the Brussels newspaper quoted an unnamed French official as saying.

According to Politico, at the same time, "in private conversations", diplomats from Western countries are annoyed that "why should they share sensitive information with Hungary if Orbán is loyal to someone else".

But they didn't stop there. The Brussels paper also recalled that after Viktor Orbán shook hands with Putin in China, David Pressman, Washington's ambassador to Budapest, convened a meeting of NATO ambassadors in Hungary and announced that the United States had conveyed "legitimate security concerns" to Hungary.

At the same time, the paper notes in its article: according to the diplomats of Western European countries, there are no plans to take stricter measures against Hungary.

As the diplomats have pointed out, there are actually no real security concerns and Viktor Orbán has so far signed all the aid packages intended for Ukraine, as well as the sanctions against Russia.
