Nothing that Israel does can be recognized - and nothing that the Palestinians do must be criticized. This is the violent "Western" formula at the moment. Written by Gábor Sebes.
The "great" French Revolution believed that salvation could be found in the trinity of freedom, equality, and fraternity, and the killing of aristocrats and priests - and later on, pretty much everyone except for the supporters of the revolution - was not too high a price.
From then on, violent progression is intertwined with terror.
The religion of equality
Equality in the XX. by the 20th century, he became the guiding star of the left at the expense of freedom and fraternity. The racial equality of Nazism and the class-based equality of Bolshevism also stemmed from this source, and it also demanded a huge blood sacrifice. Then came the seemingly milder "liberal democracy", in which liberalism sacrificed freedom for equality - and (especially in America) "democratic socialism", which, like Bolshevism, sees inequality and oppression as the original sin.
According to the undisputed tenet of equality, all people have an inherent right to a good life, regardless of where they were born or how much they and their ancestors contributed to creating the conditions for a good life.
If someone does not have a good life, he is a victim of inequality, and the original sin, oppression, is responsible for inequality. Therefore, there are two types of people: the guilty oppressor and the oppressed victim.
The oppressed is not responsible for anything he does - especially not for his own fate.
That is why he needs a strong guardian in the person of the pioneers, who everywhere represent him and speak on his behalf, since the oppressed cannot even articulate their own interests. This is a world view of wooden simplicity, which has now become an instinct among progressives.
In this equation, since, thanks to the existence of Israel, the Jews are now strong and successful and can defend themselves, they are oppressors and perpetrators; even if they are being exterminated. And the Palestinians are the victims of oppression - even if they are not capable of any kind of peaceful activity or social construction, the funds given to them are used to pay and arm terrorists and their families, or even organize a bloodbath among civilians. But they don't even have to answer for that! We do not criticize the way the Arabs treat the Palestinians - they have been kept in refugee camps for decades, they are not given citizenship, they are excluded from certain occupations, and Egypt keeps Gaza under a blockade -
since they themselves are victims of oppression, even though they have stone-rich oil monarchies.
Jamie Palmer wrote in an article that there is nothing new in denying reality and defending terror. The II. Before and after VH, leftists were just as enthusiastic about Stalin's regime. The Gulag, the famines, the fabricated trials only caused some attrition, but not the end of the communist movement in the West.
Almost all the faults of Western democracies were magnified and pointed out (because they could) in the free press.
In 1956, the large number of French and Italian Communist parties supported the suppression of the revolution. In 1967, the states belonging to the Soviet bloc severed diplomatic relations with Israel because Israel won the Six-Day War. The hijackings and assassinations committed by Palestinian terrorist organizations in the 1960s and 1970s were watched with sympathy, as were the murders and bombings of the Red Brigades or the Baader Meinhof group, which were connected to them.
In 1979, they were also fans of the Iranian "revolution", they saw the racist and misogynist, fascist theocracy as an anti-imperialist and anti-colonialist movement.
The Palestinians and the KGB
In the founding document of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) in 1964, reference is made to the Palestinian people for the first time. This document, compiled at the instigation of the KGB, considered the Arabs living in Israel to be Palestinian Arabs, since the West Bank was under occupation by Jordan and Gaza by Egypt; the desire for liberation did not extend to the Arabs there.
The goal of the PLO was the destruction of Israel.
The so-called socialist countries gave shelter to Palestinian and Western European terrorist organizations, which, among other things, prepared for their actions in Hungary, and where they rested from their fatigue and disappeared from the police.
The KGB's great innovation was that it positioned the PLO as a "national liberation movement", Israel as a colonizing oppressor, and the Arabs as victims. This was just a repetition of the reframing of the Vietnam War: when communist North Vietnam attacked capitalist South Vietnam, it was converted into a people's liberation war.
As we know from the writings of Ion Mihai Pacepa, the head of the Securitate who escaped to the West, the chief strategist of North Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh, General Giap, made it clear to Arafat, the president of the PLO, and his deputy leaders that, in order to succeed, they too must redefine the framework of their struggle. Giap's advice was simple but profound: the PLO must work in a way that hides its true goals, allows for strategic deception, and creates the appearance of moderation: "Stop talking about the destruction of Israel, but transform your war on terror into a war for human rights. " of struggle. Then Americans will be eating out of their hands.”
Soviet General Secretary Brezhnev had already suggested to Arafat that he pretend to renounce violence and want to negotiate peace. Arafat's theatrics were rewarded by the grateful West with the Nobel Peace Prize.
This suited the delicate tastes of the Western left at the time, and they maintain the narrative of oppression and liberation to this day. After the Six-Day War in 1967, the KGB launched another major campaign, in the framework of which e.g. in an anti-Semitic pamphlet distributed by the Black Hundreds (a Russian monarchist, anti-Semitic paramilitary organization) in 1906, the word "Jew" was changed to Zionist. This action was so successful that
On November 10, 1975, the UN adopted its resolution 3379, according to which Zionism is a form of racism and racial discrimination.
This decision was withdrawn only in 1991, at the beginning of the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
We have long forgotten about the actions of the KGB - but their impact continues to this day. of the main crimes of the progressive movement : white supremacy, genocide, colonialism, ethnic cleansing, apartheid and racism. Reality has little to do with this.
The Palestinian population has increased fivefold since the establishment of Israel; if there was genocide, it was pretty clumsy…
Serious disturbances
It is a nightmare for green environmentalists when the protected animal grazes the protected plant. They are unable to resolve this contradiction - when nature itself contradicts their religion - they do not know which foot to stand on. In the same way, the progressives deny the mere existence of the contradiction that the "criminal" Jewish civilians living in Israel are attacked from time to time by the oppressed, victimized Palestinians, instead of building a peaceful society in the territory granted to them.
This denial is only possible if they adopt the terrorist narrative that Gaza is under occupation
(this does not bother them to call on Israel not to invade Gaza). They keep forgetting that Israel withdrew in 2005, and in 2007 the people of Gaza elected the terrorist Hamas to administer the territory in a free election, which simply killed or drove out the people of the second-placed Palestinian Authority. They also forget that since then, in addition to Israel, Egypt has also blockaded Gaza, because Palestinian terrorists pose a threat to this country as well. This is how the concept of the "largest open-air prison" was created, which is then constantly repeated by the left-liberal press (12,500,000 hits on Google). Responsibility for this no longer rests with the Palestinians and Egypt, but only with Israel.
The cruel carnage on October 7 clearly demonstrates the necessity of the blockade.
The left has never questioned the Palestinians as to why they did not accept the territory offered in exchange for peace. Indeed, in 1967, after the Six-Day War, Israel offered the occupied parts of the territory - in exchange for peace; then even in 1977 the Palestinians were called in vain, they did not join the Israeli-Egyptian peace negotiations.
In 2000, instead of signing at Camp David, Arafat started the 2nd intifada. And yet (as I indicated in my previous article) the Israeli Prime Minister at the time, Ehud Barak, made much greater concessions than expected. He would have handed over the entire territory of Gaza, 95% of the West Bank, and promised the liquidation of Jewish settlements in the areas under Palestinian control (!). In fact, he would have handed over the Temple Mount as well.
Arafat, on the other hand, also demanded the full return of those living in the refugee camps (several million Arabs who had never lived in Israel).
They have always blamed Israel for keeping the Palestinians "under occupation" - who have never denied that their goal is to eliminate Israel.
Nothing that Israel does can be recognized and nothing that the Palestinians do must be criticized. According to leftists, Israel's recognition of gay rights only serves the purpose of distracting attention from how Palestinians are treated, and the effort to universalize Western LGBTQ norms is a form of cultural imperialism , which aims to make Arab countries backward. and stigmatizes it as a barbarian. (If they want to force Hungarians to accept LGBTQ norms, that is not cultural imperialism, and they do not want to stigmatize us: we are really backward...)
Here again, they choose to completely deny the contradiction.
Here is a typical example of the left's intellectual acrobatics to deny reality - from the pen of the editor of the long-standing American Harper's Magazine : "It seems almost inappropriate to look for an analogy to the audacity of the Palestinians on a world-historical (!) scale, with which they seize the components of self-determination; if only because the idiom of liberation reinvents itself every time the yoke of slavery is thrown off.”
In other words, the killing of Jewish children, women and the elderly, and families in their homes is the seizing of self-determination, throwing off the yoke of slavery and reinventing the idiom of freedom.
The defender of evil becomes evil himself - in vain he imagines himself as a world reformer in solidarity with the oppressed!
