This is when the snake bites its own tail. And where? In Germany!

Due to the fear of an Islamist terrorist attack, the Goethe Mosque, marked with the name of Seyran Ateş Ibn Rushd, an active human rights and LGBTQ activist in Germany, remains closed until further notice.

"We received the news that the terrorists of the Islamic State are preparing an attack on our mosque"

- wrote the Berlin Islamic and Diversity Mosque (AID) on Instagram on Thursday. "We have canceled all personal meetings. This means that from now on, prayer, pastoral care, counseling, cultural events, lectures and discussions, etc., are only available online."

The attack plans became known after several Islamists were arrested in July. Investigators found photographs that indicated a possible attack, naming the mosque as a potential target.

"Images of our mosque were circulated in terrorist chat groups and other terrorist-related media" -

writes AID. "Fortunately, the terrorists are now in prison, but we cannot in good conscience continue as if nothing happened."

The captured radical Islamists came to Germany from Tajikistan.

Launched in 2017, the mosque was the first in the world to fly the LGBTQ rainbow flag, and its 700 members are regular marchers at Berlin Pride.
