The Ukrainian National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAZK) published a statement
They write: although the Russian market accounts for just over 2 percent of Nestlé's global operations, the company "didn't dare to leave the terrorist state" and at the beginning of 2022 still had seven plants in Russia. By the way, Nestlé explained its decision by saying, according to the Ukrainians, that it will continue to supply the locals with basic goods and fulfill its obligations to its approximately 7,000 employees there.
The announcement accuses the company of importing raw materials and semi-finished products worth 374 million dollars to Russia in 2022, based on Russian data, and in the first nine months of 2023, the same imports were worth 271 million dollars.
In its statement, NAZK also claimed that the company, in addition to importing raw materials for the production of basic products, tried to " secretly send technological equipment to Russia to develop its own business activities" in the country.
The statement then accuses Nestlé of not having learned the lessons of history, since it "supplied food to the Nazi German army as well as to the anti-Hitler coalition" in the Second World War.
