The 1st district representative body initiated disciplinary proceedings against the mayor of the district, Márta V. Naszályi, because the mayor's series of violations of the law hinder the legal functioning of the representative body, the right of the representatives to information, and Márta V. Naszályi did not implement a number of decisions of the representative body. executes. In addition, they initiated the establishment of an investigation committee in the case of the Ruszwurm confectionary - municipal representatives Dániel Varga (independent) and Kristóf Gulyás Gergely (Fidesz-KDNP) announced at a press conference on Friday.
As we wrote about earlier, the dialogic mayor of District I was involved in a case of suspected corruption , because according to the confectioner's owner, he demanded protection money for the survival of the famous Ruszwurm confectionary before the 2019 municipal elections. The communication between Márta V. Naszályi and Miklós Szamos, the owner of Ruszwurm Kft., lasted for weeks. However, one thing seems certain, on December 4, executors will go to the Ruszwurm confectionery .
Serial violations of the law
Dániel Varga said
the initiation of the disciplinary procedure was necessary because the series of violations of the law by the mayor of the 1st district hinders the legal functioning of the representative body, the right of the representatives to information, and Márta V. Naszályi does not implement many decisions of the representative body.
Because of this, for example, the families, elderly and young people living in the district do not have access to municipal subsidies, the subsidies for school supplies and medicine have failed, due to the lack of the latter, the elderly living in the district have lost HUF 17,000, and the mayor is also preventing the re-publishing of the Várnyed newspaper, he explained.
The politician pointed out that
Márta Naszályi still has the opportunity to implement the decisions in question, but we have no illusions that if he hasn't done so yet, he will do so in the future
said Dániel Varga.
Legal dispute, public interest, suspicion of bribery
Kristóf Gulyás Gergely said in connection with the establishment of the investigation committee that they would like to find out whether there was a public interest in the cases between Ruszwurm Kft. and the local government. According to his description, the concerned business has been operating in District I since 2011, but since 2016 it has not paid rent or other mandatory contributions to the municipality. According to the manager of the company, the representative continued,
In 2019, Márta V. Naszályi approached him with the offer of smoothing over the legal dispute if he supported his mayoral campaign with HUF 20-30 million.
According to Kristóf Gergely Gulyás, the case also shows that
the Pest County Police Headquarters is conducting an investigation due to the well-founded suspicion of accepting a bribe.
According to the representative of the local government, after his election as mayor, Márta V. Naszályi suspended the litigation between the local government and Ruszwurm Kft. for more than half a year, and during this time the company met several times. with his leader. It is also known - continued Kristóf Gergely Gulyás - that draft agreements were prepared in several cases, none of which was presented to the representative body. He added:
last year, a final court decision was made that Ruszwurm Kft. must return two confectioneries and a warehouse, which it has been using without title since 2016. The court also ordered the payment of hundreds of millions of forints in debt
said Gergely Kristóf Gulyás.
No substantive action was taken until Miklós Szamos came forward with the accusations of corruption
added the district representative. As he said: these are circumstances that need to be explored.
They listen to the mayor
The committee has thirty days to investigate the cases, the committee will also listen to Márta V. Naszályi, where they expect an explanation as to why he is obstructing the work of the municipality
said Dániel Varga. The investigation committee will prepare a report to the representative body after thirty days and, within the framework defined by the laws, will propose the application of sanctions, if necessary, he added.
