The church kindergarten does not impart theological knowledge, but it is possible to make children feel a certain religious sensitivity and openness even at the youngest age, said Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén on Thursday in Zalaegerszeg.

At the ceremonial handing over of the Szent Csalad Kindergarten, which was renovated and expanded with an investment of HUF one billion and operated by the Diocese of Szombathely, the politician also spoke about the fact that the kindergarten is not a daycare center, but a shaper of the most receptive age of man. at that age

"when our physical abilities, our intellectual abilities, the ability of our emotional intelligence are established" and the skills that define a person throughout his life are developed

- He told.

Zsolt Semjén believed that the special power of church educational institutions is that they are "aware of human anthropology", the complexity and unity of body, spirit and soul. In such institutions, the body is symbolized by the gymnasium, the spirit by the library, and the soul by the chapel.

The school's basic mission is the cultivation of the spirit, its goal is the transfer of science, knowledge, and knowledge. The "extraordinary surplus" of church institutions is the chapel, which offers the foundation for spiritual, transcendent openness, the politician noted.

He also mentioned that when József Mindszenty inaugurated a school or kindergarten, he always drew attention to the fact that Christians have a special power and example:

Nazareth, the Holy Family, and when the Hungarian Christian state was founded, the Hungarian holy family was there as an example: the family of St. István, Blessed Gizella and St. Imre.

Zsolt Semjén put it this way: parents' demand for church educational institutions is increasing, the state, the church and the local government are only complying with the will of the parents. It is natural that the normal order of things has been restored, the church, the municipality and the Hungarian state cooperate in an exemplary manner in Zalaegerszeg.

Member of Parliament László Vigh (Fidesz) recalled that József Mindszenty invited the Notre Dame Women's Canons and Teachers' Order to Zalaegerszeg, which still operates the school and high school named after the late Duke Primate. In his view, the educational institution is "a small oasis" for which the kindergarten serves as preparation for school.

Mayor Zoltán Balaicz (Fidesz-KDNP) reminded that the city program was launched in 2014, the aim of which was to renovate all educational institutions within ten years. The idea has now been almost completely implemented, including the Szent Család Óvoda, which was renovated and expanded with an investment of around one billion forints, in collaboration with the government, church and municipality.

Kindergarten manager Andrea Kovácsné Ujj said: the kindergarten opened its doors in 1997 and then became a church-maintained institution in 2011. Initially, 47 children were raised in two groups, and currently 135 in five groups.

The renovated and expanded kindergarten in Zalaegerszeg was blessed by the county bishop János Székely.
