The protection of Hungary's sovereignty is at the center of the new national consultation, which starts on Friday. In the questionnaires, the government raises eleven topics that are decisive for our country's self-determination. The respondents can form an opinion on issues affecting the country's economy and security, they can advocate, among other things, the reduction of utilities and the interest rate freeze, and they can reject Brussels' migration plans and the further arming of Ukraine. The consultation questionnaires will be delivered to all households by Christmas at the latest, and it will also be possible to fill them out online.

At the consultation entitled "Protection of our Sovereignty", the government will ask people's opinions on eleven questions, the government announced in its Facebook post.

They are asking people to give their opinion, among other things, about whether Brussels wants to cancel the utility subsidy and the interest rate cap, as well as abolish the extra profit tax in Hungary.

The consultation questionnaire also states that "Brussels also wants to create migrant ghettos in Hungary", and that the subsidies provided by Brussels to Palestinian organizations also reached Hamas.

They also ask people's opinion about whether Brussels would send even more weapons to Ukraine, and wants even more money to support Ukraine, and wants to admit the country to the European Union and admit genetically modified Ukrainian grain.

At the consultation, people are also waiting for an opinion on whether Brussels wants to abolish the Child Protection Act, and whether they want to influence Hungarian politics with money sent from Brussels and overseas.

Alexandra Szentkirályi stated:

the questionnaires will be delivered to all households by Christmas, and they can be returned until January 10, 2024. In the future, it will also be possible to complete the national consultation online.

The consultation is important because we have had many disputes with Brussels in the past, said Alexandra Szentkirályi. The government spokesman added: “We are under constant pressure to give more money to finance the Russian-Ukrainian war. Despite our protests, migrant ghettos would be created in Hungary as well. They also want us to cancel the utility subsidy, the interest rate cap and the extra profit tax."

In addition, the child protection law is constantly being attacked, he pointed out.

Let's look at it in detail:

Overhead allowance

Since the introduction of the utility reduction in 2013, the European Commission has attempted several times to force the government to abolish the discount, which basically makes life easier for Hungarian families. Even now, Brussels wants us to abolish the utility subsidy. In their resolution, they write that energy support measures should be phased out.

They want to abolish a measure that reduces the energy bills of Hungarian families by an average of HUF 181,000 per month, the cabinet reminds.

In the first question of the consultation, the participants can therefore take a stand in favor of maintaining the overhead subsidy.

Interest stop

In the center of the union, they do not take kindly to the fact that the Hungarian government provides protection to the people against bank interest rates that have increased several times together with the inflation unleashed as a result of the war.

The introduction of the interest rate cap affects 300,000 families and nearly 30,000 businesses, but Brussels has made it clear in the so-called country-specific recommendations that it wants to abolish this measure.

In the consultation, we can form an opinion on whether we support the government in maintaining the interest rate cap in 2024 as well, or whether we agree with the Brussels bureaucrats who would implement the measure next year.

Extra profit tax

In the third point, there is also a conflict similar to the previous one between the leadership of the EU and our country. The government imposed an extra profit tax on large companies that accumulated significant extra profits during the epidemic and war crisis. Therefore, it can be expected that they also take their share of the common burden.

However, Brussels wants Hungary to abolish extra profit taxes by the end of this year.

The government is interested in people's opinions on whether they think the measure should be maintained.

After the economic and social topics, the questions concerning the migration policy and the war follow.

Migrant ghettos

Hungary has been fighting against the migration policy of the European Union for many years. Brussels wants to spread the negative consequences of illegal immigration, which poses an ever-increasing threat to the continent, and the spectacularly failed integration in Western European countries, in all the states of the community, including in our country.

They want to decide for us who we should live with and who we should let into our country.

They want to oblige us to allow migrants into the country even before the asylum applications are considered. This would create migrant ghettos in Hungary as well - reads the consultation questionnaire. At this point, respondents can make it clear whether they reject the creation of migrant ghettos or accept Brussels' migration plans.

Brussels money at Hamas

After the Israeli conflict that erupted in October and the brutal attack by the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas, the fact that Brussels has supported Palestinian organizations with hundreds of thousands of euros in recent years has become a central issue in Europe. Part of the support also went to the terrorist organization Hamas.

In recent weeks, crowds of immigrants celebrated the terrorist attacks in the Middle East in Europe's major cities, so through the migration encouraged by Brussels, terrorism threatens our continent again.

In the consultation, we can form an opinion on whether we will reject further support from Brussels for Palestinian organizations due to the threat of terrorism.

Arming Ukraine

EU policy related to the war in Ukraine also affects the security of the country. From the beginning, Brussels took a pro-war stance and urged arms shipments. Accordingly, it has already spent more than five billion euros on the development of the Ukrainian army. According to the latest proposal, an additional 20 billion euros would be given to arm Ukraine, reads the sixth point of the consultation. Here, too, the respondents can express a strong opinion, those who reject the arms shipments, on the other hand, urge a ceasefire and peace.

More EU money for Ukraine

The next point is also about Ukraine, as the European Commission wants to support our eastern neighbor with an additional fifty billion euros. However, the amount is not available in the current EU budget, so they want to squeeze additional resources from the member states.

They are asking for additional contributions from Hungary in such a way that our country has not received the EU funds due to it according to the contract for quite some time.

Hungary has already spent many billions of HUF to help refugees from Ukraine. In light of these, everyone can make it clear in the consultation that they do not want to pay more money from our tax forints to Ukraine until we have received the money that is due to us.

Brussels would admit Ukraine to the European Union

In recent days, the voices calling for Ukraine's full EU membership have been growing stronger, even though it is a belligerent country, and their admission would fundamentally change the current EU support systems.

Based on the current rules, as a full member, Ukraine would receive a significant part of the EU funds.

That is why the eighth question is important, in which people can express their opinion that they do not think the conditions are right for Ukraine's full membership.

Genetically modified Ukrainian grain

One of the potential problems arising from Ukraine's EU membership is already visible, as Brussels opened its borders to Ukrainian grain shipments after the outbreak of war. The aim of the measure was, in principle, to get the shipments to the poorer regions of the world. However, a significant part of the genetically modified Ukrainian grain instead flooded the markets of Eastern European countries and put the producers of the region in an extremely difficult situation.

Although Hungary has banned the import of Ukrainian grain, Brussels still wants us to allow genetically modified crops.

Now people have the opportunity to express their strong opinion that, in their opinion, Hungarian farmers should be supported in every possible way and that Hungarian agriculture should be free from GMOs.

Brussels would abolish the child protection law

The child protection law is also on the table, which has provoked sharp criticism in the center of the union, and they are doing everything to withdraw the legislation, the European Commission has also challenged it in court.

Meanwhile, more and more news is coming to light about aggressive LGBTQ propaganda targeting children.

The government does not want to make concessions in this either, and would even further tighten child protection regulations. All Hungarians can give their opinion on this in the coming weeks.

An attempt at foreign influence in Hungarian politics

Finally, there is a question related to party politics, which, however, is clearly about the accusation of the country's sovereignty. In the past period, various foreign organizations have supported Hungarian political actors and activist groups connected to them with billions of dollars. This is how they want to force Hungary to change its position on key issues. According to many, this is nothing more than political corruption - they summarize the series of scandals that came to light last year, when it was revealed that the campaign of the domestic left was supported - primarily from overseas - with the equivalent of four billion forints.

In the consultation, we can confirm the government's aspiration to act more strictly, even with stricter laws, against the acquisition of foreign influence.

It is known that the package of laws for the protection of sovereignty is already being prepared for this very reason.

Returning the questionnaires is free of charge, and everyone will have the opportunity to fill them in, as the deadline for sending them is January 10, 2024, and they will be delivered to all Hungarian households by Christmas at the latest. Government spokeswoman Alexandra Szentkirályi also said on her social media page on Thursday that it will be possible to fill in the form online in the future. - We encourage everyone to express their opinion. let's stand together in defense of Hungary's sovereignty - the government spokesman concluded his video message.
