All this because we do not allow migrants to submit their asylum applications within our borders.
According to the European Commission, Hungary should pay a fine of at least 1 million 44 thousand euros for breach of obligations, as it did not implement the December 2020 judgment of the Court of Justice of the European Union regarding the asylum rules, read Népszavan .
In February 2022, the ECJ submitted a claim to the EU's judicial body and recommends that Hungary must pay €5,468 per day until the judgment is implemented, but it could be up to €16,393 per day if the breach continues.
The judgment is expected to be handed down next spring, and if Hungary does not pay, the amount will be deducted from the EU support.
