What every sane person could have expected from the Geri stakes has now been revealed: they hinder the work of snow shovels.
Koppány Kőrösi, an expert in development policy, shared a video on his social media page, which clearly shows that it is almost impossible to travel on two wheels in this snowfall.
The reason for this is that snow shovels cannot clear the bike lane separated with stakes - in fact, they push the snow straight here.
This is again something like the Blaha Lujza tér WC. It was a great pride to hand it over, but it is not possible to maintain it - writes Koppány Kőrösi, an expert in development policy, on his Facebook page.
During the winter, the excavator pushes the snow onto the bicycle lane separated by stakes - because it is designed in such a way, the logic of the shovel is to push it off the road towards the edge of the road. This type of staking is also used in the sample western cities. Gergely Karácsony also posted a video about this. But there, on the one hand, they solve the cleaning of the bicycle lane with special machines - small sidewalk cleaners - and on the other hand, these stakes are only used at traffic lights and intersections, and only very exceptionally.
Where they cannot build a separate bike lane.
You can also see in this recording that the bike lanes "designed" in Atábota and executed in poor quality are only good for increasing traffic jams and for the mayor to say that he is doing something. A dangerous situation, emphasizes Kőrösi.
