Even according to three-quarters of the left-wing voters, the main duty of the Hungarian EP representatives is to stand up for the insurance of EU funds, and not to work in mines to withhold them.

Four-fifths of the Hungarian population (80 percent), and even three-quarters of left-wing voters (75 percent) agree that it is the patriotic duty of Hungarian MEPs to obtain as many EU funds as possible for our country through their work, according to the 93rd Real PR opinion poll. in his research.

According to the survey - which was conducted between May 2 and 4 by interviewing a thousand people by telephone - voters in Budapest (76 percent) and rural voters (81 percent) would expect EU funds to be secured, not withheld.

It was pointed out that

Csaba Molnár, the EP representative of the Democratic Coalition, recently stated that he feels it is his patriotic duty to prevent the arrival of EU funds in Hungary citing corruption.

However, the Hungarian population thinks the opposite: 80 percent of them consider it the patriotic duty of the representatives to facilitate the acquisition of as many EU funds as possible for the country through their work. Only a tenth of them share Csaba Molnár's view, 12 percent do not expect the Hungarian MEP representatives to obtain the funds, and another 8 percent could not answer, they wrote.

Similar results can be seen among confident voters: 82 percent of those who consider it a patriotic duty of the representatives to work for access to EU funds, and only 11 percent of those who think that this is not an absolute duty of the representatives.

It was found that:

it is rare to see a political issue with which the majority of the government party and leftists agree, but this is the duty of the MEPs.

Fidesz voters almost unanimously (93 percent) believe that it is the patriotic duty of Hungarian MEPs to obtain as much EU support as possible for Hungary.

Three-quarters of the left-wing voters (75 percent) would also expect the representatives to provide subsidies, and only 16 percent of them think otherwise, the latter proportion being insignificant among the government party voters (4 percent), they added.

On the majority of political topics, there is a significant difference of opinion between the residents of the capital and the residents of the countryside, but the issue examined here is also an exception from this point of view.

The vast majority of both population groups expect the Hungarian MEP representatives to do everything in Hungary's interest to obtain EU funds. This rate is 81 percent in the countryside, 76 percent among Budapest residents, the rate of dissent is 14 percent in the capital, and only 11 percent outside of that, the survey concludes.
