Prime Minister Viktor Orbán gives an interview from the Közmédia Központ to Kossuth Rádió Good morning, Hungary! in his show.

There was a long and difficult discussion in Brussels about Ukraine joining the EU, I tried for eight hours to convince them not to do it, because Ukraine is not suitable for this at the moment - said Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Kossuth Rádió Good morning, Hungary! in his show.

According to the prime minister, this is a bad form of aid, but the other countries had two serious arguments that had to be taken into account. One is that there are twenty-six of them, and we are alone, and the other is that Hungary does not lose anything because it has the final say

Ukraine's membership must be decided by the national parliaments, so if we do not want Ukraine to become a member of the EU, the Hungarian Parliament will have the opportunity to vote on it.

Viktor Orbán said that he did not want to blame this bad decision on Hungary's conscience, which is why he left the room.

The prime minister said that they immediately wanted to give 50 billion euros to Ukraine, but there they had to be decisive and use the veto tool.

There is no money for Ukraine right now, but we will return to this in the form of an extraordinary EU summit, probably in February

- He told.

We will not hesitate for a single moment, this

Hungarians will not pay the consequences of the wrong decision

Viktor Orbán stated, adding that when the German chancellor, the French president and others want to start on this path, it is difficult to stop them.

According to the prime minister, the union usually makes bad decisions. He cited the 2008 financial crisis, migration, and sanctions against Russia as examples.

The Hungarian government is regularly trying to moderate this, "pull the handbrake", he stated.

The situation in Ukraine is bad.

we should not send more money, but stop the war

- said Viktor Orbán, adding that you want to give Hungarians' money to continue the war, and this is unacceptable.

There is a legend that the country cannot stay afloat without external help, but this is not the case, the Hungarian economy has survived the difficult period behind us, it can clearly function without EU money, this is a lesson, said Viktor Orbán.

The other lesson, according to the Prime Minister, is that

Reforms are needed in Brussels, new leadership is needed.

Finally, the third is that what "goes, goes", money always has to be given in the end.

These funds will enter the Hungarian economy, in the next period it will be necessary to decide how to use them, emphasized the prime minister.
