It is not enough that there are several square kilometers of garbage and dirt in the center of Budapest, but the aggressive behavior of the homeless people who have moved there also poses a danger to passers-by.
Abandoned clothes, illegal garbage dumps and life-threatening shanties built from waste - this is what the area around the Rákosrendző railway station in the capital looks like: homeless people have built a tin city in the several kilometers long forest strip next to the Városliget.
The area is guarded with fighting dogs and they do not like uninvited guests.
The Magyar Nemzet staff was intimidated by a man living in a trailer who threatened his dog.
The government announced at the beginning of December that it would change the conditions at the Cancer Center. A new city center would be created, apartments, stores and office buildings would be built, and public transport would be modernized.
According to the plans, a 300,000 square meter public park would also be created in this area.
However, the first man of the city, Gergely Karácsony, does not agree with the plans. In recent days, he has stated several times: he thinks the investment in the cancer directorate is a bad idea.
