Our women's sword team is among the best of 2023! The International Association of Sports Journalists (AIPS) has chosen the world champion Argentina men's soccer team as the best team of 2023. In the voting, the Hungarian women's fencing team, which is also the world champion, took the very respectable sixth place, ahead of teams such as the Real Madrid football team or the NBA champion Denver Nuggets basketball team.
The gold medal of the Hungarian women's fencing team composed of Liza Pusztai, Battai Sugár, Luca Szűcs, and Anna Márton was a huge sensation at this year's World Fencing Championships in Milan. It has now become clear that it is not only a success of local value, appreciated in our country, but the whole world has also noticed the feat of the Hungarian ladies. So much so that in the International Association of Sports Journalists (AIPS) year-end poll, the quartet finished sixth in the Team of the Year competition, which was won by the world champion Argentina men's soccer team.

- Spain women's national football team - 308 (8.45 percent)
- South Africa men's national rugby union team - 286 (7.85 percent)
- German men's national basketball team - 234 (6.42 percent)
- Hungarian women's sword team - 227 (6.23 percent)
- Real Madrid Football Club - 175 (4.80 percent)
- Jumbo Visma cycling team – 169 (4.64 percent)
- FC Barcelona women's soccer team - 164 (4.50 percent)
- Turkish women's volleyball team - 149 (4.09 percent)
- Denver Nuggets NBA basketball team - 140 (3.84 percent )
- USA 4×100 m women's relay - 129 (3.54 percent)
- Bayern Munich Football Club – 114 (3.13 percent)
The Hungarian women's epee team memorably beat France 45:38 in the final of the World Championship in Milan and thereby defended the world championship title won in Cairo in 2022. The Lizá Pusztais, among others, beat the Denver Nuggets led by Nikola Jokic, the NBA champion team or the Spanish champion Real Madrid football team behind them in the worldwide voting, not to mention Bayern Munich.
The Argentinian football team, which won the vote, defended its 2022 title, as sports journalists found Lionel Messi to be the best last year as well. 405 journalists from 107 countries participated in this year's voting.
