From Friday, BKK will reduce several of its flights during peak hours, and the morning in the capital brought chaos. Dávid Vitézy and Gergely Őrsi, the II. The MSZP mayor of the district was also upset about the reduced number of BKK flights, but even the civilians were upset about the BKK's procedure.

Dávid Vitézy harshly criticized the action of BKK, and Gergely Őrsi initiates negotiations on an important II. due to a district flight.

Dávid Vitézy expressed his displeasure on Facebook regarding the latest "action" of BKK. Citing flexible working hours, the Budapest transport company started to reduce the number of flights today, which is why more than 10,000 people are going crazy on social media.

On Friday morning, Vitézy presented the conditions on Thököly út on his social media page, the pictures show crowds waiting and passengers missing buses, wrote economx.hu .

"The explanation that buses and trams run less frequently by only one to one and a half minutes is completely frivolous. Because the city's most crowded and important flights were reduced during peak hours. In such cases, the main consideration is not the waiting time, but the capacity in the first place - there will be dozens of fewer articulated buses in the city as of today as a result of the measure. And this does not matter: if one or two buses are removed from each affected line and there are fewer buses, the crowding increases and, as you can see in the pictures, it happens that the passengers do not even get on. The fact that the waiting time was "only" longer by one minute does not help. Public transport has become more uncompetitive with BKK's move today," said the former state secretary responsible for transport.

Vitézy continued:

"I call on Mayor Gergely Karácsony to immediately withdraw the flight reduction package and review BKK's action! Lowering the standard of public transport is contrary to all urban policy and sustainability goals."

Similarly, II is puzzled by the phenomenon. also district mayor. Gergely Őrsi stated that

initiates a consultation with the management of BKK so that the current schedule change can be reviewed in the light of experience.

One of the most important routes in the Buda district, bus number 11, has fallen victim to the reduced number of routes, the problem with this is that this is the only bus that you can use to go up to the Rózsadobr from the direction of Margit körút. and in the evening hours, at the Mechwart tér connection, in most cases it is impossible for everyone to get on the bus after 5 p.m.

Gergely Őrsi also drew attention to environmental aspects in his post:

"It is conceivable that more people will be able to get into cars due to the change, so the traffic may increase further."

Even a few days ago, the mayor scolded the state-owned MÁV and cited the predictable, dense schedule of the capital's public transport company as an example, but BKK has now lied to him on all fronts. According to the Urban and Suburban Transportation Association, heads should fall due to the unprecedented and blatant reduction in traffic, Magyar Nemzet reports.

Mayor Gergely Christmas boasted on Tuesday that, while the new year brought fewer flights on HÉV operated by MÁV and thus by the Hungarian state, the largest public transport vehicle purchase of the past thirty years is being carried out in Budapest, reports Világgazdaság .

This time, it is perhaps not worth going into whether it is appropriate to indicate this as a result of the Christmas cycle (considering that the aforementioned vehicle purchases are based on ten-year contracts), but it certainly deserves a word,

how life contradicted the mayor's assessment of the situation.

Budapesti Közlekedesi Központ Zrt. (BKK), which is owned by the capital city government, announced two days after the post of mayor, who mentioned the reduction of public services, that it would massively reduce the number of public transport services in Budapest, thoroughly lying to Gergely Karácsony.

According to Világgazdaság, the BKK announcement itself was memorable. He informed passengers about the rather important development just one day before the introduction of reduced flights on Friday, and moreover, public transport users had to untangle from a constantly expanding and rewritten notice what and when in the end it will not run in the capital.

The BKK originally stated only that, with the general spread of working from home and flexible working hours, there is less traffic at the end of the week (Friday) and at the beginning of the week (Monday), approximately 5 percent lower. In addition, during the morning rush hour (between 7 and 8 a.m.), almost 10 percent fewer people travel by public transport on Mondays and 15 percent fewer on Fridays. Therefore, they decided to adjust the schedules of several flights to the changed passenger traffic starting tomorrow, January 19.

In practice, all of this means that on Mondays and Fridays, during peak hours, the BKK flights that, compared to the measured passenger traffic, have been running more frequently or together with several parallel flights, will run a minute or two less frequently. However, passengers should also know exactly which lines will be reduced. The BKK also felt its obligation to provide information in this direction, which it fulfilled in a rare way.

BKK brings us the most unexpected news feed of the day about flight reductions. First, two lines were mentioned only as examples. Then they listed 40 bus routes, which became 43 on the way. They also named trolley and tram lines. Where this will end, no one knows yet

- the newspaper quoted 444.

Civilians were also confused by the BKK's procedure

The BKK's procedure appeared not only to 444, but also to the Urban and Suburban Transport Association (VEKE).

According to the NGO, the

BKK's procedure is "uncommentable, outrageous and distasteful", as is the thinning itself. According to them, heads must fall for this very reason.

It will soon become clear whether what happened will really have consequences.
