The brutality of Hamas was planned and organized, as evidenced by documents.
They knew what they were doing: documents found in the Gaza Strip show that Hamas commanders may have premeditated the massacre on October 7, 2023. The abuse, kidnapping and killing of civilians was part of the plan from the beginning.
This is also proven by the documents belonging to Hamas terrorists, which were found by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in the Gaza Strip, and whose clarity cannot be questioned. Based on these, the Hamas leadership ordered the terrorists to kidnap Jews "in the name of Islam" and treat them cruelly, including civilians.
The Meir Amit Information Center on Intelligence and Terrorism, an Israeli non-governmental organization, evaluated the few documents found.
Hamas training included careful preparations for attacks aimed at taking hostages, robbing them, and threatening them with death during interrogation. The seized documents show strong anti-Semitism, combined with the radical Islamist ideology typical of extremist organizations such as ISIS and al-Qaeda, says the Meir Amit Information Center.
The seized documents refute the claims of high-ranking Hamas members that the October 7, 2023 "operation" was directed solely against military personnel.
At least Musa Abu Marzuk (one of the most influential members of Hamas' political leadership) expressed this view after Hamas officials noticed the public's horror at the unprecedented violence against civilians. He said that Israel is spreading fake news.
Your enemy is a disease that can only be cured by beheading - said a handwritten note found in the pocket of one of the commanders of the al-Qassam Brigades, specifically calling for the killing of Jews.
On October 7, the Hamas terrorist wanted to encourage his subordinates with these words. He was later killed on the Israeli side, near the border. His writing is peppered with references to verses from the Qur'an and figures from Islamic history.
Literally: “Allah has appointed you and honored you to participate in Jihad […] Know that your enemy is a disease for which there is no cure except beheading and removing their heart and liver. Attack them!”
When IDF spokesman General Daniel Hagari released the memo, several Hamas supporters expressed their approval. Some spoke of the testament of a shahid (martyr).
Another document shows an Arabic-Hebrew dictionary at the al-Qassam Brigade's Jerusalem battalion. In addition to the usual short instructions, it says: "We will kill the prisoners." As written:
“Allah will torture them through you”.
Another document contains blessings and prayers for terrorists to say in various situations. Before going into battle, they had to say, "Fight them, Allah will strike them down through you, give them victory, and heal the hearts of the believing nation."
And if they were successful in the battle, they had to say: "Blessed be these weapons that defended the land of the homeland and defended the land, the honor and the holy places from the impurity of the Jews."
