Prime Minister Viktor Orbán assessed Thursday's negotiations at the European Union summit as a success. The prime minister on radio Kossuth Good morning, Hungary! In his program, he declared: Hungary continues not to send weapons to Ukraine, he contributed to the collapse of the bankrupt Ukrainian state.

We are not doing well in terms of peace, because Brussels is burning with the fever of war and everything there revolves around war, even though according to Hungary, everything should revolve around peace

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said on Radio Kossuth Good morning, Hungary! in his show.

According to the Prime Minister, two years have passed, the hopes of Ukraine and the West regarding the war have not been fulfilled, the war is still open, hundreds of thousands have died, killings are practically taking place on the front, and there is no end in sight to the conflict, so we should work to end the war as soon as possible be.

A pro-peace policy should be pursued in this environment.

Hungary still does not send weapons to Ukraine

Brussels wants to deliver weapons, but Hungary refuses to pay for it.

According to Viktor Orbán, Ukraine will not receive this fifty billion euros for weapons, but to prevent the bankrupt Ukrainian state from collapsing, because the Ukrainian economy is essentially on a ventilator, and if the Americans and the EU do not send money, then "we have to to close shop”, which would mean no pension, no salary, no hospital, no nothing.

Hungary wanted us to give money for the sake of peace, but this was not possible, because the Westerners still think that it is good if the war lasts as long as possible, because this will improve Ukraine's military situation.

"I, on the other hand, think that the opposite is true, time is on the side of the Russians, and the longer the war lasts, the more people die."

he pointed out.

According to the Prime Minister, it is also very important that

we also managed to ensure that the money of the Hungarians does not go to Ukraine,

because there was a danger that the 26 EU member states other than us would reach an agreement without us and the money due to us would be given to Ukraine. This was avoided.

The Hungarian left is pro-war

Viktor Orbán reminded: There are also pro-war people in Hungary, the Hungarian left, for example, has been pro-war for years. They are the ones who want to send weapons to Ukraine, who think that military actions should be supported, "maybe they would have even sent Hungarian money to Ukraine," he said. On the other hand, he stressed, he goes and negotiates in Brussels precisely so that this does not happen.

How did we get from sending a few thousand helmets to fighter jets? - the suggestion was made, which according to the prime minister is the "one million dollar question."

According to Viktor Orbán, this has a natural process: when a person starts to "support something in a small way", he suddenly identifies with it.

It can be observed that

many people in the EU are already talking about the Ukrainian war as "our war", and if we don't intervene, the Russians will enter Berlin.

To what extent the will and reasoning system of the United States prevails in the decisions made in Brussels, no one can say for sure today, according to the formulation of the Prime Minister, he can only form an opinion as a participant and observer.

Some of the EU member states have stronger, others looser relations with the United States. Here, European and American aspects are often mixed up, and typically those countries that demand the loudest support for Ukraine are those that Washington can influence more strongly, he underlined.

The prime minister reminded us that we have many disputes with Brussels, apart from the conflict in Ukraine.

About migration, about gender, which are discussions about changing our lives. But they also want to take away, for example, the utility reduction or the interest rate cap.

"As in all such disputes, there are tools in Brussels and in our hands," he said.

According to the Prime Minister, it is obvious that they can do us harm in Brussels, but what we do will not be pleasant either. No one wants this, everyone would rather avoid it.

He emphasized that the Hungarian government went to the wall at the EU summit.

We found a good agreement: we will not send weapons, we will receive our money and in the meantime it will contribute to the civil maintenance of Ukraine

he explained.

What Brussels is doing to European farmers is not fair

Regarding the farmers' demonstration in Brussels, he explained that they have the same problem as the Hungarian farmers. Brussels makes rules that push the costs of production up on the farmers' side. But in the meantime, they allow products to be brought into the territory of the Union from countries where these regulations do not apply. The farmers say to this, "they are ruining us!"

"The rules must be changed, Ukrainian agricultural products must not be allowed into the territory of the Union," he emphasized.

It is clear that the left is financed from abroad, and those who give them the money are pro-war, and Brussels is trying to involve Hungary in the war through the Hungarian left.

Viktor Orbán said that Brussels does not listen to people's opinions on many issues.

The feeling arises not without reason that Brussels often represents the interests of others rather than the European people, said the Prime Minister.

This difference of opinion may culminate in the June elections, the prime minister said.

If the democratic distance between the citizens and the leaders is too great, political change will become inevitable, Viktor Orbán said, adding that this will happen in June, and the Hungarians will support it.

Hungary is a sovereign country, it does not claim the kosher stamp of the Ukrainians

- said Viktor Orbán, referring to the fact that this week the head of the Ukrainian presidential office said that neither Viktor Orbán nor Péter Szijjártó are pro-Russian, but pro-Hungarian.

As is known, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjértó held talks with his Ukrainian counterpart and the head of the Ukrainian presidential office in Ungvár on Monday.

"Hungary can't sink to that point because other people say what they are like about the Hungarian Prime Minister and the Hungarian Foreign Minister," Orbán commented on the comment.

"Well, we look good, don't let the neighboring Slavs tell us who we are from the thousand-year-old Hungarian state"

said Orbán. According to him, the Ukrainians meant this as kindness, but you don't have to pay attention to it.

The Prime Minister added, "Hungary belongs to the Hungarians, we will decide what we want", the opinion of the Ukrainian side does not influence the Hungarian position.

The distance between Ukraine and Hungary on the issue of war is very large. Both countries are sovereign, but they cannot ask Hungary to support them in the war.

According to Viktor Orbán, after Monday's meeting, there are more chances for the disagreements between the two countries to be resolved.

If there is a negotiation, it always gives an opportunity for improvement, but if there is not, things will get worse. It is in Hungary's interest that there be continuous negotiations between the two countries, emphasized the Prime Minister.
