According to surveys by the Mária Kopp Institute for Population and TREASURES (KINCS), nine out of ten Hungarians consider marriage to be the best form of relationship, and the majority of young people also want to live in marriage.

"Marriage is the highest-level manifestation of unconditional trust and devotion between a man and a woman, which provides the most reliable basis for having and raising children," said KINCS in its announcement on the occasion of the marriage week that began at the end of the week.

The Hungarostudy research examining the mental state of Hungarians clearly highlights that

marriage is an important health protective factor, both from a physical and mental point of view, because married people generally live longer and consider themselves to be happier and more satisfied than single people

- drew attention.

They went on to say that although the institution of marriage is attacked countless times these days, it is relativized and considered an outdated, outdated form of relationship, KINCS research proves that despite this, nine out of ten Hungarians still consider marriage to be the best form of relationship.

"The majority of young people want to live in marriage, which explains the fact that a significant number of cohabiting relationships also end in marriage"

- they said, adding that this is confirmed by the fact that compared to 2010, the number of marriages increased significantly by about 15,000.

According to a previous survey by the Mária Kopp Institute, young people under the age of 30 are in favor of marriage, 75 percent of the surveyed singles plan to get married in the future, and today three quarters of children are born in marriage, while previously only every second newborn had married parents.

The Marriage Week initiative started in England more than two decades ago, and for one week every year, it draws attention to the importance of marriage and family, they wrote in the announcement.
