The task of the new head of state will be to restore the national unity that was broken due to the clemency decision of the previous president, Katalin Novák, it must be made clear that there is no pardon in cases related to pedophiles or related crimes, the Prime Minister announced on Friday, Kossuth radio Good morning, Hungary ! in his show.

After long negotiations, a decision was made to nominate Tamás Sulyok as the president of the Fidesz-KDNP republic, and the faction also gave the green light to this - Prime Minister Viktor Orbán told Kossuth Rádió Good morning, Hungary! in his show.

According to the prime minister, Hungary is a strong country, because after a painful decision, we see that there are quite a few Hungarians worthy of the position of president.

We thought that experience, expertise in constitutional and legal matters, knowledge of international law and a suitable life path made Tamás Sulyok the most suitable candidate, he said.

Regarding the pardon decision, the Prime Minister said that it was within the presidential competence and

Katalin Novák said yes in a case where the only acceptable answer would have been no. Almost everyone in the country felt this way.

Because of this, the unity of the nation was broken, which can only be restored by resignation and a new president of the republic. To Katalin Novák's credit, she admitted her mistake and left.

Viktor Orbán said that he hopes that the new president will not recognize the issue of pedophiles,

because the minimum is that if a person who abuses children is already convicted, he should not be pardoned under any circumstances. In a decent country like Hungary, such a thing simply cannot happen, he said.

The prime minister emphasized that he would like to see whether the suitability tests were properly carried out when appointing the heads of domestic child protection institutions.

It is impossible, he said, for a case like this, such a copycat, to happen. It is clear that the suitability test was not carried out properly, because in this case it should have appeared that there was a problem here.

Viktor Orbán stated that during the (preliminary) examination of the heads of institutions dealing with children, the person's lifestyle, sexual deviance, and psychological suitability must also be addressed.

"We need to put things in order here, and I will follow this process personally," the Prime Minister promised.

A new tightening in child protection cases could create further tensions with Brussels, but according to Viktor Orbán, if we always followed their arguments, we would look and live the same as them.

"We don't want to live like the people of Brussels," he stated.

And the Hungarians - according to his hopes - will say that

raising children is the sole responsibility of the parents, outside of that others, such as LGBTQ activists, cannot interfere.

Viktor Orbán said that what prevails in Brussels could be described with a Hungarian term, the "gate closing panic". According to the prime minister, since the mandate of the representatives in Brussels will soon expire, they suddenly want to settle all issues in the field of LGBTQ, migration and war.

This has to be "remedied", said the Prime Minister.

According to the prime minister, there is a great deal of agreement in Hungarian society on the issue of LGBTQ. However, regarding the issue of migration, he said that there are many "paid agents" in the countries. The Prime Minister reminded that in Brussels they are acting on the basis of the Soros plan when they say that migrant ghettos should be created.

In 2015, we fought alone, now some people have joined. We are no longer alone, for example the Slovaks and many others have bravely joined the migration pact, he underlined.

We don't want to throw away the result that we are a migrant-free country because of one last blow from Brussels - emphasized the Prime Minister.

In connection with the two-year anniversary of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Viktor Orbán stated: Russia attacked Ukraine, and this raises many questions of principle, but mostly questions of real politics. The realities are clear from the first minute.

You can't go into a war, the West doesn't jump headlong into a war, a case where there is no solution on the battlefield. Ukraine will not be able to defeat Russia.

France, Germany, and Great Britain can send weapons and ammunition to Ukraine, but that will not give them superiority over Russia on the battlefield. This is a losing war for Ukraine on the battlefield.

NATO declared from the very first minute that it would not send soldiers. From here on, it is clear that peace and a cease-fire must be sought, because Russia cannot be defeated that way.

War is a terrible destruction, a heavy responsibility. So we need another peace process. We must strive to create a livable Europe. I understand the West, but from Hungary's point of view, the war is more dangerous, since it is taking place next door. We need peace, it's a matter of existence - said Viktor Orbán. Since Russia is a nuclear power, it is even more dangerous to continue the war.

Speaking about the war in Ukraine, the Prime Minister said: the Westerners have stepped into a pit, and they cannot pull their feet out of it. But public opinion will sort this out. He believes that Western European leaders should have made calculations after the outbreak of the war, and then, after sensing that people did not support the arming of Ukraine, admit that they were wrong.

Now, however, "we have to face the risk of the expansion of the war, which will push Europe into economic bankruptcy," said Viktor Orbán.

According to his conviction, the moment will come when the Western leaders will have no choice but to admit that the situation cannot be resolved by military means, but rather diplomatic negotiations will be needed, which the Hungarian government has emphasized since the beginning of the conflict.

According to the prime minister, politicians and country leaders have a personal responsibility in handling the war, but also in admitting migrants, for example.

"Sooner or later, someone in the West has to hold up their hands and say: I made a mistake!" - He told. This is why the autumn American elections are also of great importance. In politics, it is difficult to admit mistakes and say that we have been going in this direction until now, but from now on we should rather keep in that direction. The prime minister does not see this happening in Europe at the moment, so he believes that change in Europe can only happen with the American elections and Donald Trump's return to the presidency.

Viktor Orbán said that he understands the faction's opposition to Sweden's NATO accession. As he said, he asked them to let him speak to the Swedish Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister revealed that we are entering into serious military industrial agreements with the Swedes, but at the same time he stated that the Swedes must accept that we are not the same. Viktor Orbán said that Sweden is organized differently and wants to live differently than Hungary.

"Christianity is fundamental here. We are a family-oriented country. We are pro-peace, the Swedes are pro-war in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict," underlined the Prime Minister.

At the same time, he said, if Sweden doesn't want to dictate how we live, and we don't want to dictate how they live, then we can create a military alliance based on interests. Viktor Orbán revealed that we will seal this today, and on Monday the parliament can also give its blessing.
