Records are being broken in Hungarian-Chinese economic and trade cooperation.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received the management of the Chinese BYD car manufacturer at the Karmelita Monastery, and they reviewed the situation of the giant company's investments in Hungary, Bertalan Havasi, Deputy State Secretary in charge of the Prime Minister's Press Office, informed MTI.

One of the most important investments in Hungarian economic history is coming to Hungary,

the world's largest electric car manufacturer, China's BYD, is building its first European car factory in Szeged - reminded Bertalan Havasi.

Thousands of jobs will be created thanks to the investment worth several billion euros, which will also bring about a change in technology, and local suppliers will also benefit from BYD's presence. Viktor Orbán said at the hearing: the government's intention is not only to implement an economic policy development in Szeged, but

the people living there can also feel its positive effects in their everyday lives.

To this end, infrastructure development worth several billion forints is being launched, which also affects the road network, the public utility network and community services. The parties highlighted:

For years, Hungary has been China's number one investment destination in Central and Eastern Europe.

Over the past decade, our country has established a predictable, stable and mutually respectful relationship with China, and every year significant records are broken in economic and trade cooperation.
