At the earliest, Hungary can return to normal life in Europe, but this does not mean that the epidemic has ended - the Prime Minister announced on Radio Kossuth Good morning, Hungary! in his show on Friday.

It can be said that it is a good result that Hungary ranks first in terms of vaccination rates in the European Union, but we must not forget that it is about human lives - said Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Kossuth Rádió Good morning, Hungary! in his show.

The prime minister added that during his meeting with Katalin Karikó on Thursday, the professor told him that with the method they developed, they can provide a quick response in the event of the appearance of a mutant.

The left played an ugly role in the epidemic situation

In relation to the left, the prime minister said that they played an ugly role in the epidemic situation, they did not help, they only harmed.

According to Viktor Orbán, Western countries are one or two months behind us. In most places, vaccinating 16-18-year-olds doesn't even come up, there are countries where pensioners are still vaccinated. The Prime Minister thanked the young people, about half of whom registered for vaccination despite the fact that they belong to the less vulnerable age group.

Everyone should continue to follow the rules

As soon as the vaccination of the students is finished, an average of around 150,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine per week will be available to the population, but other vaccines can be taken continuously.

Hungary is the country that can return to normal life the soonest. However, it is important to remember that the epidemic is still here, so everyone is asked to follow the rules.

He emphasized: the spirit of competition should not be allowed to be more important than the stakes of the competition, human life. He also warned: it was not possible to save everyone, "we have serious losses", so while they talk about being the first in vaccination, compassion and help in enduring pain must remain first.

So far, 4,483,598 Hungarians have received their first vaccination. As early as May - according to some, around Pentecost - the number of people vaccinated may reach five million, at which time the restrictions on weddings, major events and the curfew can be lifted, said the Prime Minister. He added: however, it is not possible to participate in certain public events until the beginning or middle of August without a protection card.

Based on the number of registered people, it is not impossible that the number of vaccinated people will reach six million, but it depends only on the people, their individual decision and responsibility, whether they take up the vaccine, emphasized the prime minister.

There will be plenty of vaccines, which is why, from next week, Hungarians living abroad are being asked to register, because they can also receive the vaccine in Hungary.

We have reached the level where we were before the crisis in terms of employment. The prime minister expects that the number of employed people will soon be higher than before the epidemic. This is due, among other things, to the doctors and nurses, as many people were able to return to their jobs thanks to their steadfast work.

He also talked about the fact that they can work with a really good budget, since they will be able to pay a pension premium and, among other things, it will also include the fact that those under the age of 25 will receive tax benefits. At the same time, more than 7,000 billion have been allocated for restarting the economy.

The head of government also reported that, according to the report of the government's vaccine management working group, a vaccine for a potentially necessary third vaccination is "already in the bag", so if a third vaccination is needed, they will be able to do so in the fall and in the first quarter of next year.

Hungarian family policy is unique in Europe

In connection with the International Day of Families, Viktor Orbán said that in Hungary, families are not the focus of attention for just one day, as Hungarian family policy is unique in Europe. There is no point in planning a future if there are no children, because who would plan a future for if not the children. Research has also shown that young couples would like to have more children, but they do not have the financial resources to do so. And the scientists claimed that if a suitable family policy is developed, children can be born that the parents previously did not dare to have due to financial constraints. Parents need to be given a lot more support to make life easier with more children.
