In Hungary, however, several left-wing politicians "play the role of the martyr", the constitutional lawyer pointed out.

In its verdict announced this week, the Capital City Court partially changed the first-instance verdict and

found László Varju guilty not only of crimes against the electoral order and disorderly conduct, but also of physical assault.

At the same time, the court of appeals upheld the punishment imposed in the first instance, i.e. the HUF 900,000 fine. The judgment is partially final.

"The court punished Varju Laci in a dishonorable and unfair verdict. Laci's sin is that she didn't allow herself to be beaten in the TV headquarters"

– this is how Ferenc Gyurcsány reacted to the verdict.

"Instead of László Varju and András Fekete-Győr apologizing and looking their voters in the eye, they are impossibly pointing at the government and trying to play the role of martyrs by posing as victims"

– the constitutional lawyer of the Századvég Research Institute pointed out to the Hungarian Nation .

Zoltán Lomnici Jr. could not go by the threat of the president of the Democratic Coalition (DK) without saying a word: in his opinion, the fact that Gyurcsány openly threatened the judges and prosecutors working in the justice system,

an Anglo-Saxon would at least be liable for contempt of court, but he would have to face even more serious consequences.

The constitutional lawyer also pointed out that in the case of the representative of the DK, moreover, the crime against the electoral order and the offense against the economy were legally established by the second-degree verdict, which in his case would justify this step even more.

In the case of several left-wing parties, we can see that there are no consequences for illegal or unacceptable actions - summarized his opinion. Zoltán Lomnici.
