On March 7, 2024, at 5 p.m., in the Club Hall of the House of Science and Technology (3529 Miskolc, Görgey Artúr utca 5.), the Wass Albert evening entitled ...unbroken faith...

The program was put together by: Chief Librarian Gábor Nagy

Hostess of the evening: painter Ágnes Máger, honorary citizen of Miskolc.

The event is supported by the NEAO-KP-1-2023/6-001210 grant.

Count Albert Wass of Szentegyedi and Czegei, who was an extremely humane person blessed by God with special gifts, was consciously ignored for a very long time in Hungarian, but also in world literature.

That is why those dealing with his work must make a strong effort to lead the interested public to the real and good sources. To dispel obscurity and promote value.

This is important because the team of haters is becoming permanent. As is customary in political life, unfortunately, the usual scenario of attacks (location, style, person) works - unfounded and tasteless.

So let's be careful what we take in and what we accept, and let's always weigh the momentum of our cultural needs first.

"Albert Wass held bold views, and history will vindicate him: already in his youth, he recognized that Transylvania historically has a multicultural, multilingual, and multi-ethnic character. Wass Albert was proud that the Hungarian princes were the first to declare free religious practice and religious tolerance in Transylvania. He believed that laws that take into account the common and equal rights of several peoples and nationalities should be established in Romania." (Brigadier General Wass Huba Czegei)

Albert Wass was and remained a committed Transylvanian Hungarian writer until the end of his life. His oeuvre is rich and diverse - novels, poems, autobiographical writings, lectures, journalistic articles, etc. - waiting to be accepted.

His place is among the great Hungarian literary personalities of the twentieth century! Approaching the EP elections, we feel it is increasingly important to deepen our connection and commitment to our country, our homeland, both in ourselves and in the members of our environment. On March 7, we invite Albert Wass to help interpret Gábor Nagy for this mission.

We cordially invite all interested parties to the event!
