The first modern, environmentally friendly Transylvanian nursery school was opened in Kézdivásárhely, which was built from the government and European Union funding program launched by the Romanian Hungarian Association (RMDSZ), the RMDSZ announced on Saturday.

The announcement points out: in Romania, the number of children born annually has decreased from 215,000 to 155,000 in five years, the number of public nurseries does not even reach 400, and less than four percent of children have a place in them. This problem is remedied by the state crèche construction program, which was launched by the RMDSZ when it was in government. At the same time, the RMDSZ has also solved the financing of the operation of the nursery schools, and this is now burdened by the state budget, not the local governments.

"The kindergarten in Kézdivásárhely that has just been handed over is the first to be built in the Hungarian community thanks to the program launched under our government. You cannot build a nation without children. That's why I boldly say: we made the right decision when we started the national nursery building program with which we wanted to support young families. I wish that these 40 places are not enough, that more crèches are needed! And we can promise that we will always represent what is important to the community"

– quoted the president of the federation Kelemen Hunor.

Senate faction leader Attila Cseke, during whose ministerial mandate the development ministry launched the crèche construction program, recalled at the opening ceremony that the foundation stone was laid in March last year, and although the pace of work slowed down after the RMDSZ went into opposition, the new facility in Kézdivásárhely was built within a year .

"This is the work of the RMDSZ, the governmental success of the RMDSZ"

- stated the former minister.

Tibor Bokor, the mayor of Kézdivásárhely, pointed out: it is no coincidence that schools, kindergartens and blocks of flats are being built in the settlement of Třámszék, since they are working for a Kézdivásárhely where it is good to start a family.

The nursery has playrooms and bedrooms, a kitchen and canteen, as well as a laundry, and the energy needed to heat the building is produced from renewable resources. The nursery school is owned by the municipality.

Under the leadership of RMDSZ, the Ministry of Development provided funding for the construction of 255 modern and environmentally friendly nurseries across the country, 120 of which were built with EU funds. In Transylvania, the following will be handed over in Nagyvárad - read the announcement of the RMDSZ.
