According to the former mayor, the LMP foresees with alarm that the governing parties will eventually step down Szentkirályi in favor of Vitézy.
And if Vitézy did not accept the nomination of the LMP in the end, it would be a discredited step, so why did he negotiate with an opposition party for months?! I certainly would not have negotiated with an opposition party. So where does Vitézy belong now? If we look at Alexandra Szentkirályi's strengths, in addition to what I mentioned, I have to highlight her communication skills.

According to him, the candidate of the governing parties should focus on positive messages in the campaign. "Not to mention that he has a positive aura. Of the three mentioned, one can sense this most in Alexandra," added the former mayor.

Considering that in Hungary they are getting very, very tired of this perpetual filth, I would come forward in Alexandra Szentkirályi's place with mainly positive messages and things to say

The Budapest caucus of Fidesz unanimously asked Alexandra Szentkirályi to be the candidate for mayor of Fidesz-KDNP. According to Fidesz's bylaws, the National Elections led by László Kövér will make the final decision on his candidacy, which we can already take as a certainty, since Viktor Orbán withdrew his commission as a government commissioner on March 15.
Mayor Gergely Karácsony reacted to Szentkirályi's candidacy in such a way that it doesn't matter to him who the candidate of the governing parties is, because he has a problem not with the candidate, but with Fidesz. According to him, the government considers Budapest "a sinful city", and he added that the nomination of the government spokesperson is a symbolic choice, "because he will not be the spokesperson of Budapest, but of the government".
