Hungary's most prestigious artistic and cultural awards were awarded.
On the occasion of March 15, the President of the Republic presented Hungary's most prestigious artistic and cultural recognition, the Kossuth Awards.
The Kossuth grand prize was received by composer Péter Ötvös. Péter Eötvös in the 20–21. one of the most renowned contemporary opera composers of the 20th century. As an internationally recognized conductor and composer of successful operas, orchestral works and concerts, he is considered one of the most significant and influential figures in musical life.

The shared Kossuth prize went to the ensemble Mistrál.
