Seven national value Hungarikum awards and two public media programs received the Hungarikum Liget Media Award at the IV. Hungarikum Awards Gala, which was held on Thursday evening at the Petőfi Theater in Veszprém.

In his speech, the Minister of Public Administration and Regional Development, Tibor Navracsics, emphasized that the Hungarian heritage, which represents a uniquely Hungarian and Central European value, preserves us and can be seen as a connecting link.

In a historical sense, they refer to Hungarianness, they are not only characteristic of the past, but also represent the set of values ​​that appear in the hope of a better future

- He told.

Zsolt V. Németh, the prime minister's commissioner responsible for the protection of the Hungarian way of life and our national values, put it this way: "We regard the Hungarians with love, with the commitment of the heir" . Our values ​​help us find our place in the world, we can show ourselves through them. They set an example and inspire, he added.

Gyula Porga, mayor of Veszprém, said that the award gala is a worthy continuation of the 2023 Veszprém-Balaton European Capital of Culture program. Just as the European Capital of Culture program series, the goal of the Hungarian Committee is to show our cultural treasures to Europe, he emphasized.

The IV. At the Hungarikum Awards Gala, prizes were awarded to Hungarian cifraszőr, lángos, Pozsonyi kifli, Anna-bál in Füred, Székelykapu, teqball as a sport, and Hövej lace. The Hungarikum Liget Media Award was given to Kossuth Rádió's Country Tour program and the staff of the film series Ízőrők on Duna Televízíó and Duna World channels.  

The Országjáró has been heard on Kossuth Radio since 2018, with the help of which listeners can wander around the special places of Hungarians living in the Carpathian Basin, and get a glimpse of the cultural, architectural and gastronomic heritage of the given landscape.

Ízőrzők is a country-traveling informative film series that has been shown on Duna Televízió and Duna World since 2007, in which the creators, Ildikó Róka and István Móczár, present the local flavors and gastronomic specialties in detail, as well as the visited settlements.

The Hungarikum media award was founded by the vice-president of the Parliament, and it recognizes the work of representatives of media, editorial offices, and programs who do a lot to popularize the Hungarikum movement.

The prize winners received a small sculpture by the graphic artist Péter Tóth. The work, made using patinated non-ferrous metal alloy and polished granite, symbolizes the spirit of Hungary with stylized hands protectively holding the sun disc. Its height with the postmens is 420 millimeters.

The purpose of organizing the gala is to draw attention to the importance of appreciating our national values. Since the first gala was held in 2013, a total of 82 "Hungarian farmers" have been awarded the prize, according to the announcement issued by the organizers.
