The world is facing a series of decisive elections. The first, the Russian presidential election, did take place, but the international press and pro-war politicians mention that Putin did not win in a "clean" vote. The European Union elections are coming, and in November the USA will elect a president. Security policy expert József Horváth spoke about these events as a guest of the Civil Academy.
Let's go in chronological order, starting with Russia. Since the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, we have constantly heard that the West's goal is to remove President Putin, democratize Russia - weaken it in Hungarian, and in some cases even divide it, and make its wealth of mineral resources accessible to international capital. Meanwhile, funny news is also spreading. We know, don't we, that when we read that "British scientists established", then we are not talking about credible findings. Well, instead of the scientists, now the British secret service is in on the joke, they have been assigned the unworthy role.
I don't even understand why they took it on, but since the outbreak of the war, they have been promoting such ridiculous claims that President Putin is terminally ill, or already dead, or even mad and now drinks children's blood every morning.
The state of the fighting
Of course, everyone lies about this, but it is especially true in relation to President Putin. The situation of the Russian president in 2022, at the beginning of the fighting, was not bad either, but since then it has strengthened, as the election results show.
Let's add right away that the European Union contributed significantly to this strengthening, especially the Germans. When they decided to send Leopard tanks to Ukraine, they gave President Putin a trump card that he immediately played. He stood up and said, just like our grandfathers did, now we too have to fight against the tanks marked with the German cross. This message is understood even by the musicians living in the remotest village of Siberia. After all, when his grandfather fought at Stalingrad, such tanks came, but they were not called Leopards, but Tigers. Communication is very simple, these western weapons prove that we are being attacked, and when the Russians are harassed, it brings people together and not apart.
Europeans don't understand Russian thinking. For a Russian person, the fact that he cannot buy, say, a French or German washing machine from tomorrow is not a shock.
Then he buys Chinese and Indian, which may already know the same things as a Western product. Let's not forget that the Russians have seriously prepared for this. attack, for example in the food supply. For decades, even during the Soviet era, Russia was dependent on Canadian and American wheat, and now it has become one of the world's largest exporters, quietly and unnoticed. Knowing all this, one cannot be surprised at Putin's overwhelming victory.
Union election
Well, this is much more difficult, and a much more important question for us.
What is happening now is that they try to put Hungary on the edge of the carpet from time to time, like the bad student. Son, send your mother in and you won't get lunch until you become a good boy. And you won't get the twenty billion euros until then. The Poles walked in similar shoes until they "understood the word of the times" and voted well. Now they are good children, but we also see what is happening inside Poland. What is important for Hungary right now is that there should be order within the country, there should be order in people's minds as well, because this vote is now much more important than the previous EU elections. This is the only way we can express our interests and at least fight for our interests on some level, not submit to the will of the mainstream . In my eyes, it is already a victory that one can fight.
America
It is a strange and pleasant feeling that the Hungarian Prime Minister visited the United States and negotiated with Donald Trump. We feel a sense of historical justice that Hungary is treated according to its weight, because although there are only ten million of us within our borders, our geostrategic position makes us much more important than our weight would suggest based on our number of employees. László Kovács tried to teach us to be small, now it seems that President Trump is showing us that we can also feel big and it's not such a bad feeling.
The current president of the USA does not say such things, but, for example, such as what he said to Netanyahu regarding the events in Gaza. He warned the Israeli president not to make a mistake like the one the USA made after September 11, 2011, when they entered Ukraine!
That is why I think that it would be very important for the citizens of the United States and from the point of view of the stability of the world, that a powerful, self-judging person, who knows his own words and the weight of them, would once again be in the presidency of the United States, because what is happening now is bad for the whole world. We laugh at Joe Biden's stumbles, but that's not good. The risks are increased when the number one man of an economic and military power gets lost in his own garden. Let's think about how such a president can perceive the interests of his country on the verge of, say, a nuclear conflict? God save us from this!
